I just recently found your blog – through Miss Mustard Seed. You ladies have so much talent. At 51, I have been trying to change my decorating style. It’s a challenge because I had to decide that a lot of things simply needed to go. Once I purged over half of my wall decor and accessories, I felt free. I really love the way you use a lot of white in your rooms. White but not sterile. White that’s cozy and pretty.
I just moved to an two family home that is over one hundred years old (we live downstairs). The home is in the Historical district of my town. There are so many interesting cute architectural details… the options are limitless. I’ll keep jotting down ideas from you and Miss Mustard Seed. I’m tickled pink to have found you all.

more than anything i love this dresser… of all the ones i see i always talk about this one.
loe your whole house … tks for sharing.edna nc
I’ve been following your blog for about a month now, and I love your house. There are so many inspiring things to look at. I especially love that blue door. I never would have thought of creating a focal point by painting a door blue, but it really adds some whimsy to the room. I have a door that leads to my laundry room that I’m thinking of doing this to. Thanks for sharing all your fabulous ideas!

I enjoyed visiting your site. You have some very beautiful ideas. I found you from Knock off wood. I’ll be back. Thanks Theresa
Thanks, Theresa! So nice to meet you.

Love the table. We want to make one for our back yard. A great spring project. Thanks
In the Painted Door photo, Did you make the Family Rules art piece? I love it and would like to know where to get one or how you made it! Thank you,
How do I make your Famiky Rules wall hanging?? I found iy nice on here under your craft projects can’t seem to find it again!! And want to make it RIGHT AWAY FOR A FRIENDS BDAY!!! ANY HELP WOULD GREATLY BE APPRECIATED!!!
Omigoodness, that playroom is EXACTLY what I want for me kiddos! Love your ideas. LOVE!
Gorgeous! I love your use of bright, fun colors without losing sophistication. I have been learning about that balance in my first few spaces. Do you have your paint colors listed on your site?
Have been challenged to fool my new subdivision home into believing
She is actually a cottage on a little shady lane rather than a cookie cutter
House on a tidy city street. I have achieved this mainly by incorporating
Charming cast offs, painted and given new life along side overstuffed
And carefully selected new name brand furniture available everywhere.
I have a new project, a three level scrolly open curio that I hope to
Give a silvery chippy pale blue paint treatment to. I was so excited
To see the downloadable furniture painting book, thank you xx Susie in kansas
I hope this doesn’t come across as really creepy…but I think I have a blog crush on you. <3

I love the chalk painted pieces. You have answered many questions for me about that wax finishing that I see in many fine furniture collections. Can someone please help me figure out how to turn my dark ’70′s’ paneling in the basement family room into a “French pickled look”? But, first tell me if I’m crazy to want to do so?
I believe that what I love about this old paneling is the pattern/texture that I’ve grown accustomed to. I think if I paint a flat color it’ll destroy the character. My paneling is the style that looks like you put wood flooring on the walls, not regular paneling.
I found your website via TipJunkie and just LOVE it. We live in a thatched house which is gradually getting desperate for a make-over. (We haven’t done ANYTHING to it really since we bought it 8 years ago). Your cottage style is a perfect fit and my hubby LOVES white so he’ll be keen to follow too!
(Just a quick question: On the page http://www.perfectlyimperfectblog.com/our-spaces the photos are very stretched (just an HTML code setting))
Your home is beautiful!!!
I just found you through Flea Market Style. When they described you and your blog, I felt like they were describing everything I’ve hoped, dreamed and tried to live, my whole life. You are so much more talented than I will ever be, but I am just in love with everything I’ve seen so far on your site. I’ve always felt it was just awful to throw away anything till I had at least tried to give it a couple of make-overs to see if it couldn’t be used in other ways. My 3 girls always told people to not stand still or Mom will paint you. I am so happy to have found your blog and I do believe I have a new BFF
I love all of your creations! I especially heart your love for Willow House products! You are so creative with the placement of them! If you need any new products check me out on my website! Hope to meet you at the Haven Conference!
Love it! We’re just finishing re-designing our first home (I am uploading pics on my blog soon!) and are about to sell. I want my next home to be brighter and lighter like this! My hubby would absolutely love a home theater or man cave…
Thanks for sharing, very inspiring! I’m off to check out the rest of your blog!
everything looking so beautiful
thanks for sharing
Just wanted to let you know what an encouragement your site has been to me. I love the colors you choose in your designs. I’m very new to blogging myself…I have just started on my own journey in the blogging world. Keep up the good work!
Love the color of paint you used in the dining room & kitchen. Do you remember what it was called? Thanks!
Hey Tonya! It’s Benjamin Moore’s White Diamond–and the pale taupe/gray in the coffered ceilings of the dining room is Sherwin Williams Crushed Ice. Happy painting!

Can you tell us the wall color in the kitchen and dining rooms? Love your style!!
Hey Christy!
The kitchen is White Diamond (as well as the dining room paneling). The insets in the coffered ceiling of the dining room are Sherwin Williams’ Crushed Ice.
