The Market on Chapel Hill Displays

By |October 18th, 2016|

We had blast at this year’s Market on Chapel Hill…

After my decision to turn PI into a design studio, we brought way less.  We stuck to my typical palette of wood/white focal pieces and mixed in some accents and smalls.

Our backs mostly thanked us.

These white crocks.  With the preserved leaves.

And the heirloom pumpkins….

Happenings at Factory South

By |September 9th, 2016|

It’s been a hot minute since we talked about Factory South.

We opened the store in April 2015 and this, if you remember, is what it looked like…

We moved things around here and there, but overall it maintained the same feel and style.  As time passed, we decided to sell the brand to the folks I’m working […]

The Southerly & Photo Shoots

By |May 25th, 2016|

I recently began working with some pretty incredible folks in Opelika, where Factory South is located.  You know how you just meet some people, and you know they’re just going to be a part of your life?  That’s how it was when I met John and Ashley Marsh.  We worked with them for the opening […]

Heather Bullard & The Polished Pebble

By |June 30th, 2014|

I’ve been in photography/styling/inspiration mode for a couple weeks now that we are finally gearing up to shoot more of the look book.  After browsing around a bit, I ran across this styling from Heather Bullard (whose work I adore)…

Amazing styling (and home!), right?  This shoot was featured in the June 2013 issue of Country Living.

Budget-friendly Spring Decorating Picks

By |April 16th, 2014|

I have gotten in the habit of looking around on Polyvore lately when I’m pulling inspiration together for a space.

Or, let’s be honest, when I want to play.

As spring approaches, breezy decorating is on my mind.  I had fun the other night searching for some budget-friendly spring decorating picks for you…

Well, we’re gearing up to work on her bedroom to make it a bit more of a retreat for her.  We’re going very feminine glam.  I […]

Office Ideas & Inspiration

By |February 10th, 2014|

Ever since an eventful morning heading to the airport last week (more on that soon), Lisa and I have been working away in her and her husband’s soon to be elegant and sophisticated office.  For those of you who don’t know, Lisa is one of my very dearest friends in the world (I […]

fresh looks using what you have

By |January 20th, 2014|

Another beauty of simplifying your home (in addition to having a little less to deal with), is the eye you develop when shopping, Pinterest-grazing, and magazine flipping.  While you crave certain looks in your home, you become much more selective in what you actually bring into your home.

Now that […]

Shop Talk: Rifle & Sugar Paper

By |October 16th, 2013|

Hello lovelies.

My days from writing in bed are waning a bit–feeling better every day.  Thanks so much for your sweet comments and motherly advice…a girl will take all she can get.

Remember the pretty striped paper from Ava’s framed dress?  I had some time last week to shoot some more […]

Lego Batman Party

By |October 14th, 2013|

How was your weekend, friends?

I’m still resting some, from my weird chest injury, but Matt was busy working on projects for the book and our house.

Since things have been a little nuts around here, I basically planned Grayson’s birthday party one week out.  I know, give me “mom of […]

Favorite Home Decor Coffee Table Books

By |August 22nd, 2013|

You know my love affair with books.  Vintage books, literature, children’s books, decorating books–you name it, I’m reading it.  The more into design I’ve gotten, the larger my decorating book collection has grown.  Nothing makes me happier than a cup of coffee and a flip through one of these inspiring friends of mine.

Foyer Updates with Threshold by Target

By |March 26th, 2013|

Our foyer has been evolving since we began revamping our home from dark to light.

A couple of years ago…

And this past Christmas…

We bought the longer dresser from a friend, and the foyer began making sense.  We then added our Between You & Me […]

Shop Talk: Spring has Sprung

By |March 14th, 2013|

Well, it’s been a wonderful couple of weeks at the shop…there’s been a buzz in my brain for some marketing & fun events we have coming up (more on that at the end of our post).

Dash & Albert | the dash stash

By |March 4th, 2013|

I dream of rooms filled with Dash & Albert rugs.

I remember the first time I ran across their rugs…I was in college and looking for a dorm room runner.  I didn’t buy it at the time, but I picked one out for Ava’s nursery, and my sweet […]

shop talk : new in the shop this week!

By |February 6th, 2013|

After the trip to market, we could hardly stand the anticipation for our largest order to come in to the shop.  We have several vendors, but one is certainly our favorite and I love working with them…we placed several orders at Market that were new to come in.  And boy, let me tell […]

By |February 2nd, 2013|

Happy weekend, friends!

Welcome to another addition of shop talk–this was a busy week for us as orders from Market began arriving.

I can’t wait to tell you about all of that, but I wanted to answer some of your questions about how we chose product, etc.

shop talk: creating displays

By |January 25th, 2013|

Howdy, friends!

Welcome to another installation of our weekly Shop Talk.  I’ve been in the bed for a few days with the Flu, so it’s taking me quite a bit of energy to pull out this post, but I was ready to share some pictures with you.

Much like decorating in […]

our christmas home tour & holiday project roundup

By |December 24th, 2012|

Merry Christmas, friends!!

Albeit later than usual, I wanted to give you a little tour of our holiday home.  I’m fanatical about Christmas decorating, and as previously mentioned, my color focus shifts from year to year, but I’ve become a fan of using lots of natural greenery dressed up with ornaments and […]

holiday shop talk

By |December 18th, 2012|

Opening a shop at Christmas time has been a busy and beautiful thing.

Between wrapping presents, homeschooling, shopping for my family, shopping for the shop, blogging, and trying to do normal life stuff, too, I feel a wee bit active.

But…I’m truly learning to follow my own advice.  I just tackle […]

In the meantime, I wanted to share some furniture trends that are making my heart go […]
