all things furniture (funky) features & link party # 13

By |October 6th, 2011|

I don’t know why I’m so excited to be writing this post today, but I am!

Maybe it’s because I finally had a chance to sit down and look through all of your gorgeous links, and maybe because I found some pieces and folks today that I just thought were uber-talented.

Hey there folks!

bar stool redo and new pop of color winner

By |August 29th, 2011|

I could not mention it.

But then you’d notice anyway.

I’m not posting the dining room reveal today.  I know.  Don’t hold it against me.

Hold it against the blinds that fell apart last night and the frame store that won’t open.

It’s coming this week, but […]

to do…

By |August 23rd, 2011|

Turn this thing from sad…

to spectacular.  My SWEET and GENEROUS neighbor gave this to me…for free!  I was so tempted to sell it, but it was her grandmother’s and honestly, I love knowing the exact history behind it.

And we can use all the storage we can get.

Howdy, friends.

First things first, I have to give a shout-out to Ree, a.k.a. The Pioneer Woman, for featuring our writing room today!  It was such a fun renovation that gave me a clean slate to write and paint in…and we’ve loved it every day since our addition.  Thanks, Ree, for the […]

french provincial mirror

By |August 16th, 2011|

A couple of weeks ago, my Aunt Deb brought me a french provincial mirror and stool…and they were gorgeous.

The mirror wasn’t terrible as is, but it felt very formal, and did have some sort of speckling on the finish.

Here’s the thing…Aunt Deb hasn’t told me what she […]

new tray tables with Krylon dual paint

By |July 9th, 2011|

I’m SO excited to share this project with you!  I’ve partnered with Krylon to give you the lowdown on their new product, Krylon Dual Paint + Primer.

Here’s the thing.  You know I usually don’t use spray paint on furniture I sell.  Definitely love it, but I usually add several […]

antique turned-leg table & a mirror

By |June 20th, 2011|

Remember that wacky shopping trip I took with a shady lady?

The one where I found this beauty??

I couldn’t wait to get started on this one.  I loved the turned-leg style and everything was in pretty good shape (other than the obvious damage to the top).

I […]

elegant buffet & dining room scoop

By |June 8th, 2011|

I hope you enjoyed seeing the window space at Troy Antiques yesterday!  As I said, it was fun to put my things in, and see them as I drive by them on the quaint square.

The buffet pictured in the space is one of my favorite pieces I’ve ever done. […]

the window space

By |June 7th, 2011|

Moving into the window space at Troy Antiques was bittersweet.

It was fun….I loved the pieces I took in; loved working on them all.  But…it occurred to Matt and me one morning last week that everything is about to change.

Our little guy will go to school in August […]

That’s what I’m doing…and I love getting to share it with you, because you guys were the reason I began painting and continued blogging, turning hobbies into business and passion.

And it’s a good thing I love this…because pieces […]

i’m back…and a furniture makeover

By |May 16th, 2011|

Hey there, friends.

I’m back in the states, and I have to tell you, it’s a bittersweet day.  I am so happy to be home with my snuggly bunnies, and yet, I find myself staring out the window quite often, thinking of the people in Honduras.

I couldn’t wait to catch […]

french furniture and a request

By |May 3rd, 2011|

I told you I’d been painting like mad.  Getting the vault ready in a little over a week’s time was CRAZY and I. am. tired.  But…the plus is I’m also thrilled to be painting again.  The ebook was so much fun to create, but it’s kinda nice to have paint all […]

repurposed finds for the vault

By |April 29th, 2011|

I’ve been painting like mad.  Mad, I tell you.

I have worked on a piece or two of furniture everyday, and over the last week, began pulling together some smaller repurposed finds for the vault space.

I never knew my paintbrush would last so long.  Or that I could […]

School-Inspired Side Table

By |April 24th, 2011|

You know how a lot of my pieces are white or very muted?  And a lot are layered and dry-brushed?  All I mean is, as a painter, I get into a look and I settle comfortably under the covers.  Hug a pillow and snuggle in for a while.

But every now and then, it’s nice to […]
