I love our quaint community.

I never thought I would.  Love Troy, that is.  But now that I have my own children, and now that I’m older, I appreciate everything about where I am.

Opening a shop brought about such a sense of where we raise our family, and how wonderful it is to really get to know the people around you, no matter the size city you live in.

I love our festivals and ice cream shops and the University and just realized there’s a farmer’s market every Saturday right down the street from our shop.  How did I not know that?!

I’ve gotten a few emails from folks coming to the book launch on Saturday, and I wanted to highlight just a few of my favorite places around town (specifically downtown).

First up: E+Me.  It’s an adorable children’s store on our downtown square carrying everything from homemade bows to confetti pops to puzzles to vintage inspired duds for the little ones.   Chelsea (that’s her up there in the pic) is so very talented and curates such a happy spot for kids and parents alike.  It’s one of my favorite places to visit–everything in her shop just makes me happy.  P.S. Chelsea stocks clothing for infants up to kids 14, toys, art supplies, puzzles, baby gifts, bows/headbands, & other sundries.

Another couple downtown hot spots are Cotton Creek (a fabulous men’s clothing shop) and Confetti Crate (vintage finds & pretty things)…

Cotton Creek is right down from us on the square and Bryant’s store boasts everything the Southern gentleman could want.  There are even a few things for us girls, too.

My cousin Eden has the cutest space (La Bella Vita) in The Confetti Crate and psst. she’s having a 20% off sale right now!

Sister’s Restaurant is literally some of the best Southern food in the world, Glow is a fabulous beauty boutique, Troy Antiques is my favorite antique store, Sips on the Square makes the best pizza and pimento cheese plate in town, and Milky Moo’s makes a mean sandwich and homemade ice cream.

No, really…

Dolce just opened up on the square, too, and oh my Lord.  I cannot walk in there without salivating.  Homemade croissants, cupcakes & lemon tarts line the display shelves.  Whew.

These are just a few amazing places around town to visit.  There are many more wonderful restaurants and shops and parks.  I decided there was no way to feature everyone, so I stuck mostly to the places around downtown near our shop, but I would encourage you to venture out a little too.

I’m also organizing a little casual get together for those of you traveling in on Friday evening.  If you are coming into town, we’ll get together at one of these special spots.  Just email me at shaunna@perfectlyimperfectblog.com to let me know and I’ll send you the time and place so I’ll have time to spend with you and give you a quick shop tour, too!
