Well, The Chapel Market was a whirlwind!
On Friday morning we loaded up my SUV, Matt’s truck, Julie’s car, and a 16 foot U-haul. We were absolutely drenched with sweat by the time we got to the chapel around lunchtime.
In a few hours, we had the place looking like this…
We brought a ton of stuff. Spools, vintage jars, quilts, milk paint, chalk paint, suitcases, and lots of accents and little bits.
So much so, in fact, that I was convinced we were going to have way too much to fill our space. The booth wound up being even bigger than what we’d planned for, so we got it jam-packed with vintage goodness and a few pretties to go along.
I’ll try to let the pics speak for themselves mostly…
I did bring a ton of grain sacks. Some sold, but not all, so as soon as things settle down here a little, I’ll snap photos of them and list them in the online shop.
Miss Mustard Seed herself was right across the way, so you’ll see a few snapshots of her space, too. I loved her hand painted samples of her milk paint line…we just sent folks over there to check them out before buying colors.
In addition to bringing some of our vintage quilts, we brought some found vintage linens like napkins and tablecloths.
This guy. makes. me. soooo. happy.
A couple more of Marian’s space…
a little jar of german glass glitter came home with me…so cute!
Our french tea towels sold really well and I’m so glad we took them. I love these towels and have used them all over the house. I’m sort of a I-can’t-find-bath-hand-towels-I-love-so-I’ll-just-use-a-kitchen-towel-kind-of-gal.
A couple more shots other booths….
I’ll fill you in what we sold tomorrow, and how the actual market went, but let’s just say that planter of cotton stems was rather empty by 10 am.
and the back side of our space….
Setting up our booth was a ton of fun and I couldn’t have done it without my sweet team (thanks to Matt, Julie, & Natalie!!!). Be back tomorrow with pics of the market.
P.S. I had a couple of folks ask what to take to a fair, etc. to set up and some tips on how we sell. Let me know if you guys want a post on that–happy to help.
I hope you were inspired by all the goodies and displays!
You were not lying. You brought a lot of stuff… I really liked that photo of the small spikes.
Glad you were prepared! From what Karianne posted, there wasn’t much left to take home. What a fun thing to do. I hope there is a little rest and space for you on the backside of all this. It looks like my prayers were answered and you found the fun of it all, in spite of the previous exhaustion. I still wish I could have gone and seen you all. Oh well. Maybe we can have it up here in VA next time.

Did you have any of the vintage jars left? If so, I’m interested! Love the state cards, too. Do you have them in your online store? Very nice booth…wish I could have come.
Lovely lovely lovely! So glad i found you through MMS!
Loved the state cards! Would love more info on them!
I love your shop and this market was something I was looking forward to and alas, couldn’t make it! I am having my own “Barn Sale” for the first time on Nov. 2nd.
I hope mine will be as successful as I bet this was…do you sell almost everything?
How do you keep the booth and displays looking good after people start buying? My biggest fear is having the displays, that we will work so hard to make look cool, look decent throughout the day as {hopefully} things start to sell!!
You don’t have to answer little ol me…but a post about that would be fun for future reference! Thanks!!

Beautiful stuff! As someone who is going to be doing her first fairs this spring and summer I would love to hear your tips on how to prepare and what to take 🙂
I loved visiting your booth at the Chapel Market! I bought a lovely French tea towel and the “Oklahoma” state card. And I sure enjoyed getting to meet you! You are as sweet in person as you are on your blog!

I absolutely LOVE the map pillow that is in the third picture from the bottom! Do you still have that or did it sell? So wish we could have made it to The Chapel, what a wonderful time you all must have had!
Your booth looks absolutely amazing as does the entire market! Wish I could have made the trip but unfortunately it’s oh about 15 hours from LeClaire, Iowa. Looking forward to the grain sacks being added to the shop:). Hoping y’all have a Chapel Market 2014, so I can make it down South to meet all my favorite bloggers:)
It was so nice to meet you Shaunna and I had a great time at Chapel Market. I do hope it will be an annual event. I’ll get there super early next time as it appears I missed lots of treasures and I was in the chapel around 10:30. Thanks for a great time.
So beautiful!! I love how you displayed your tea towels on an upcycled kiddie bike wheel. I think I may try that for my next market. Here in Amsterdam (the city of bikes), it shouldn’t be too hard to find one! Thanks for the inspiration!!
