I rarely make impulsive purchases anymore.
I wouldn’t venture to say I think and think, weigh and measure, either…there’s a happy balance when it comes to purchasing things for our home.
So imagine Matt’s surprise when one afternoon I came hauling in these massive green vintage ice cream shoppe signs…
Malts * Shakes.
Don’t worry….there’s another one.
Malts * Shakes and Banana Splits. The color, the font, the wording….they just made me smile.
So I bought them. Just like that.
Very, very strange indeed. I’m sure they won’t hang here forever, as they’re not my classic style, but for now, they are such a fun, upbeat addition to our kitchen decor.
Speaking of inexpensive decor that makes me happy….this cookbook is just perfect. I LOVE the graphic fork and spoon on the spine.
Here’s to simple and impulsive purchases…within reason, of course.
🙂
FUN! Love your signs. Good purchase! When you decide to take them down, hit me up. I will buy them. Growing up on a dairy farm, I love anything with milk. (My secret desire as a child was growing up owning an ice cream store). Love your splashes of turquoise colors too!
Wow those signs are cool! Where did you find them? 🙂

Love your vintage signs. I have that cookbook. It was my Mothers. She owned a Restaurant.
I was surprised to see yours. It’s copy write is 1966. Yours is in better shape than mine.
My is well Loved.
Great choices-you would have kicked yourself if you hadn’t picked them up.
I think they are fabulous! I just may have to make some…
Now that’s a BOLD addition! I think you should keep them. They shake things up… hehehehehehehe….
Yum! Are they wood or metal? Good decision! 🙂
Well, I’m not an impulse buyer either and I would have bought those in a second! Looks great!
The’re awesome!! I’m sure they’ll look terrific wherever they eventually land…
I’m too busy looking at that enormous fridge of yours. Holy Smokes! It’s industrial sized.
