Yesterday was a whirlwind of laughs, conversations, beeping registers, and drawings. We were blessed beyond measure and honestly could not have expected what happened. We’ll share more about our Grand Opening with you this week.
We are mindful, though, this weekend of the men, women, and families that serve and have served in our military.
We are so thankful and inspired by your true sacrifice and service, and will be forever grateful to each of you.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
If you are serving or have served in our military, leave us a comment today so we can get to know you and thank you personally.
Happy Veteran’s Day, everyone.

Congrats on the great opening! My father was a brave hero in World War 11. I am an army brat and was in the U S Army in 1973 to 1976. My brother I retired from the Air Force.
Thank you Teresa for your husband and sons service. Also for your strength at home.
Congratulations on your grand opening! Happy Veteran’s Day
I’ve been following the progress of your store and am very excited for you. Can’t wait to see more posts as your store grows.
We have two sons, both serving in the Air Force. We are very proud of them and their service to Our Country! I have many relatives and friends who served and are serving in the military. And I’m proud to say I was part of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP), the official auxiliary of the Air Force for 10 years too. While not a branch of the military, the history of the CAP is very connected to the military…. If you’d like to find out more about the Civil Air Patrol, go here http://www.gocivilairpatrol.com For me, who wanted to join Air Force right after high school, but sadly never did, this was a great way to serve my Country.
Thank you for thanking all people serving in our Country’s armed services, now and in the past, both here and abroad.
Sending you great luck on your new venture! I am a military mama; my daughter is a Korean linguist serving in the United States Air Force.
Today is Veterans Day, and I would like to say thank you to all those who are serving or have served this wonderful nation. I am so proud to be a veteran of the United States Air Force. Many members of my family and my husband’s family are veterans as well. Both of my parents served in the United States Navy during WWII. A special thanks to you, Momma. You were ahead of your time and set the example for the women in your life in so many ways. My husband and both of my children are veterans as well…Patriots all. God Bless these veterans on this day and God Bless America!
Hi Shaunna,
I was fortunate to meet you the day of your Grand Opening. My friend and I really enjoyed your store and will be back for a painting class real soon.
We are a military family living in Montgomery, Al. My husband is retired Air Force and I myself am still serving in the Fl Air NatIonal Guard. I have been in the military for 15 years. We have enjoyed serving this great nation. It is a true honor to serve! We honor those that have served before us and those that continue to serve! Thank you for the warm thanks as it is our pleasure to serve. 🙂
Once again, congratulations on the opening of your store! I’m sure I will be finding myself down in Troy more often! 🙂

Thank you to ALL our ARMED FORCES!!! ~Kim
LOVE, love, love your new store and so thrilling to finally meet the you during your grand opening. Can’t wait to play with my Anne Sloane chalk paints!
I came upon your blog almost two years ago when we were still in DC. The highlight of our move to Alabama was that I’ll be living in the same state as both of my most fav bloggers (Ms. Shauna and Ms. Layla)!
My most beloved veteran even drove me there to Troy. We are an Air Force family stationed at Maxwell AFB. My son is also in the USAF, just having returned from his third, and hopefully his last deployment.
Blessings and graces on your newest endeavor…I’ve got your store location programmed in my GPS so I’ll be visiting you soon! (Just drooling over that linen covered headboard – how much is it?) Again, loving your shop much!
Hi! Congrats on your grand opening!! Wish I lived closer to attend it… Unfortunately I’m stuck in NJ for the time being… However, I will be ordering some of your wonderful paints and waxes in the near future! I was in the Navy for 4 years. Though I would have loved to have made it a career, my children come 1st.( I had 2 children while I was in) it was hard decision to leave but I know it was the right one. I went back to school, got my BA with my benefits. I plan on continuing grad school. I will never forget the great times I had during my enlistment and the lovely and interesting people I met through the Navy.
