Happy weekend, friends!
We’ve had a marvelous day today.
Matt let me sleep in today–it was my day. We have days. No matter how early we both have to get up, one person gets to “sleep in” while the other gets up with the kids.
I take it even when it’s 10 extra minutes.
We began the day lazily sitting on the couch, enjoying some coffee and watching the kids play kindly (for a change) with one another.
I surfed pinterest for a while, gaining loads of inspiration for the day.
Today was Christmas decorating day.
This year was all about scaling down a bit for me.
I just needed to put out less, and I was craving fresh garland. More on the steal I found later…
I’ve gotten lots done today, but when you stop every few minutes to hang with the kids, it’s pretty much impossible to finish the whole house in one day. I’m sure tomorrow afternoon will be filled with more decorating.
And cleaning.
I have a bridal shower in my home Monday night.
A non-Christmas themed bridal shower, but don’t fear. There will be lots of Christmas decor. I’ve been assured it’s just fine.
Oh well.
Our house is Gross.
It’ll get clean. I’m crooosssing my fingers that when it gets really clean for our Christmas party, that I’ll be able to do a walking video tour of the house for you.
I’m not making any promises, though.
Thing 1 and 2 may have their way with the house by the time we have a hot set.
Do my best, though.
😉
We’re winding up our day with family movie night, and I’ll be posting our dining room Christmas late tomorrow night in time for the Holiday Home Linky Parties.
Ooh, and our fabulous KV Bijou giveaway winner is #4, Sarah, from Renewed Upon A Dream. Congrats, Sarah!! Email me at shaunna@harristire.com to claim your prize.
Don’t forget, you can still get your KV Bijou holiday orders by Christmas if you order by midnight tomorrow night!!
If you’ll excuse me, Chronicles of Narnia is waiting for me.
😉
You’re funny! I can send you a few shots of my house if you want to see gross. If a thief broke in to rob us, he’d take one look at the place and jump back out the window.
Seriously!! Our house is never company ready, but the past six months, it’s been down right filthy! I’m so ashamed of myself, but there always seems to be something with a shorter deadline than cleaning. God willing, I will have this house clean by Christmas morning… (or at least camera ready – ha ha) for all the morning pictures.
Take care, Shelly
