There’s a few things I love about being on the coast…
Air dried hair, for one.
Less makeup than normal.
Except for eyeliner. I look dead without eyeliner.
Little sundresses & tanks.
Bare feet. Oh, I love my wee one’s little toes.
It’s the perfect occasion for the menfolk to wear salmon pink.
On their skin, too.
(Yes, I’m a terrible mother and let Grayson’s calves burn this time.)
Raw Oysters.
Yep, I do love ’em.
But those very slimy, oversized ones in the pic above?
NASTY.
Their sheer size turned up my gag reflex instantly. I felt like I was eating a baby squid, or worse.
They did not, I repeat, did not go down smoothly.
The shells made for a cool parking lot, though.
**these pics were taken a month ago, but we’re heading down to the condo to relax a little & get some painting and decorating done. I’ll be blogging coast-side this week…see you then!
When I was in Savannah a few years ago I went to this little store on Broughton and they had these fabulous Oyster shell lamps and chandeliers..if I were in that parking lot I would have taken buckets of those shells and made my own lamp/chandelier!!!
P.S. That oyster looked huge!!!! So big that I couldn’t believe that you could swallow it whole!
have fun! love the shell parking lot. relax lots.
i have to wait till october to do some relaxing. hoping to sneak to the lake for a weekend in july though…..i NEED it with a capital N…:)

That is a pretty cool parking lot! And I cannot do oysters, not for me!
