Okay, girls and guys, it’s been a while since my last furniture makeover.
You know.
I like to think you’ve been waiting.
🙂
Choosing to take a step back from the creative process was difficult for me.
But writing the eBook has clearly been a creative art all its own.
As we were completing the video for the book, I finally got to get my hands on a piece of furniture.
This piece of furniture…
I wanted to celebrate the masculine and clean lines of this 1950s chest….and keep that gorgeous hardware.
And here he is….
You’ll actually get to see me distress and stain this piece.
It’s the most buttery mushroom color, and I can’t wait to style and stage it for the book.
I’m swooning over that hardware.
Like falling down, feeling weak in my skinny-jean knees, swooning.
I had intended to stain and darken it, but the gold is such a fabulous play on the cool stain.
This one’s for sale, and if it hangs around, he’ll hang with me a TroyFest, a wonderful arts festival in Alabama. I’m hoping to bring a whole bunch of Perfectly Imperfect and and get it out into the world.
🙂
Give me a shout at shaunna@harristire.com if you’re interested. This one’s heavy, guys, so it will have to be freighted.
Freighted, schmeighted.
Have you seen that hardware??
Can’t wait to show you more of what we’re getting into at the Opryland. Head over to Layla’s to see us on our way out of town.
Catch you later, friends.
🙂

This is gorgeous!
You did a very nice job on this bad boy. I've always loved using the vintage oval plate pulls when available. Keep up the great work. Kristy @ 4 the love of WOOD
Yep, that hardware is definitely swoon-worthy. I love that style of furniture… just masculine enough without being heavy.
it looks awesome, shaunna!!! and oh my gosh is it me or does it look like the more masculine brother to the french dresser i linked to your party?? they are like curvy girly sister and masculine, stately and handsome brother… love it!
That boy is gorgeous! You did a wonderful job and I too love the hardware.
I know you are at blissdom and having fun I'm sure, but I hope you will join my party, too and I have some to link at yours now.
Looks heavenly…I'm swooning over it, too! Denise Cosgrove
Nice job!! It looks completely different, with a beautiful twist. Did you have to make a drawer or was it just removed for the picture?
AHHHHHH DOOR able! 😉
looks great, i have a party going on too, started Wednesday, i'd love it if you joined.
Lovely! You're so right about the hardware.
I'm swooning too! It's gorgeous!
Gorgeous! Love the hardware. I just blogged about my chest of drawers that I painted today too.
I'm drooling! Wish I lived nearby, it is perfect. And I love the handles, they certainly stand out now!
I love everything you do…..but, this is different.I'm speechless…and head over heels in love. Do you come through Arkansas on your way?? Just drop that baby off at my farm, I'll give her a good home!
Your chest of drawers looks fabulous, you were right on to keep with that original hardware!Have you been to that art festival in Troy? Do you sell well there? Just curious as I'm in Alabama.
loooooove it
LOVE the color…gorgeous as usual:)
WOW! Doesn't that just look de-lish!
Stunning, Shaunna! The color is beautiful and the hardware is gorgeous. I love the detail on the hardware and I love this dresser! I hope you're having fun at Blissdom. I'm hoping to go next year (if I ever get my blog up) and meet some of you.
Beautiful! Love it! And you're right about the hardware. Very speccy! And the hardware is gorgeous ;o)
My absolute favorite piece is a dresser that is very similar to this. I picked it up in an antique shop in the Hamptons! Love that thing!

Be-utiful! I'm pretty darn excited for that e-book. (I loved meeting you this week. I was so torn between attending the classes I paid for and bought 2 plane tickets to get to, and just hanging out. Next year…)
You did a wonderful job! I found a dresser at Goodwill last year and immediately bought it for the great price and it has the same gorgeous hardware. I was wondering if your piece was stamped with the name of the furniture company? I have been going back and forth if I wanted to do something with mine. I can't decide but you have given me inspiration. I would love to have chest of drawers to go with it too. Can't wait to watch the video!
Lovely! What is the paint color?
gorgeous!! Love that color! Will you share the name of it and what stain you used?
Lovely & Elegant!I love this kind of gray palette, the hardware is gorgeous too.
Could you please share the colors used and the process. I absolutely love the color!
