Alright, I know I’ve said it a million times.
But I am truly beginning to understand the fickle nature of my pc.
So…I’m currently checking some available options.
🙂
I have a fun guest post coming to you tomorrow, but I honestly could not wait to hang out with you guys again.
While I was at Lisa’s house last week, we got super crafty and inspired, painting her wall black, and we also worked on this little beauty that Lisa snagged from the same consignments we shopped last week.
I love these lines, and the comfy seat…so very Lisa. She had plans to paint her entry wall a deep teal (not very unlike her living room wall), so I suggested some yellow and gray accent colors.
I felt kind of bad to be spraying all over their grass, but it felt pretty good to paint something.
Plus, I could just see mustard on this little seat.
Minus the teal wall, and one recovered pillow, here she is.
Because we were going for speed and inexpensive, we chose a spray paint base. I believe the color was Warm Yellow, but that was a little too smooth and, well, yellow. I snagged a Glidden paint sample in Mustard to dry brush on top.
After distressing, I added a Jacobean stain on top to give it some depth and beautiful finish. Lisa’s got some Minwax Finishing Paste to seal it.
I envisioned a chunky charcoal and white stripe on the chair, and we found these two pillows at a consignment shop. I love the smaller one, and Lisa will be on the lookout for some fabric or a cover for the larger one.
Don’t you love it??
She just may have gotten me on the color wagon.
See you tomorrow!
🙂
Oh Shaunna,
No one, but no one, does paint like you do, Shaunna. You really inspire me.

What a lovely piece! Like you, I haven't quite gotten on the bold color bandwagon, but with the antiquing and slight distressing, I dig it. And now I need to go find something to paint…stat!
The chair looks great and that color is fabulous. Looks like you meant to pick all the colors you did because it turned out perfect.
Hi Shaunna,
The seat is lovely in that color. I'm dying to refinish a few pieces I have and you've about convinced me that mustard may be the way to go with one of them!
Soo pretty! It turned out great!
What a beautiful little piece! I've never seen anything like it and you did a great job! Makes me want to go thrifting!
