Remember that piece I said I’d never paint??
Well, I’m considering it. Painting the bottom, that is, leaving the top.
I guess that’s why they say “never say never.”
Especially in design, I say. 😉

I really love painted furniture, especially with a stained top, but I’d never paint that piece either. It’s so perfect I couldn’t do it. I hope you will rethink it. 😉
ditto to the above comment. however, it is yours to do what you want, so if you do decide to paint it, just make sure you’re going to love it as much painted as non-painted (yeah, like that’s possible until it’s actually done! 😉 also, if you do paint it, i really like your idea of not painting the top; winning idea for sure!
I have a piece similar to that on a smaller scale with a different drawer configuration that I painted just that color. We love it! I wish I could have left the top unpainted but there was some damage that the paint covered beautifully. You never know when yesterday’s “never” will become today’s yes.
I love painted furniture, too, but I think this piece really is too beautiful to paint. And I think it’s great to have a balance of painted pieces and natural pieces. So my vote–leave it just as it is! Sometimes say never. 🙂
Yeah, never say never. I have some of my mom’s furniture I don’t plan to paint for sentimental reasons but I might. Some I would but not valuable antiques. Hope it looks great!
I wouldn’t paint that piece either. I’m assuming it is pine(?). I have a dresser in my bedroom (everything else is painted) that is pine and I love it the way it is but the finish is very light. Your piece would be terrific if you could lighten it. But, that said, it also would look good painted.
It sure is a beautiful piece. I think I would tend to leave it, but that’s just me. Whatever you decide, I know it will be the right decision :)!
I love the look of this, but I am a huge fan of painting furniture. I always say I will leave something and end up painting it. It is a beautiful piece of furniture and painting it or not will not change that fact!
its beautifull just like this ! I wouldnt paint it…and i love painted furniture : )
i think that painted furniture with unpainted, i mean, wood makes a lovely contrast in decoration. You get to valorize more the painted one due to the contrast…
