Hey there, friends!

We’re home now from our family vacation, and when I say it was needed, it was needed for me to unplug and be with my sweet family last week.

Writing the book has been a surreal experience for me, and while I’ve enjoyed every second, it’s definitely a tight schedule around here.  Time has so easily slipped away more than once in the last couple of months.  Going on our trip and slowing down, brought to my attention how much I miss our regular schedule and how simple it is to lose track of the most important moments in the day.

Lazy bath times for the kids, reading books to them without rushing, and eating meals around a table–those are the moments that make this mama soar.  During a time like this, it can be quite easy to skim over the details, which, in the end, is what makes up our life.  Taking our trip (which I’ll share more of soon!) was exactly what we needed as a family and gave me a creative burst of energy to come home refreshed.

We are in the home stretch now, and I’m sort of locking myself into the house to get it all done on time.  I may blog a little less this month, but maybe not.  Either way, I’m going to make sure that I hold on to all those little moments that so easily slip by.

Speaking of crazy schedules, I was so immersed in book work before we left that I had to put a couple of other commitments on hold until we got home.  A month or so ago, Pottery Barn asked us to compete in a friendly decorating challenge against a few other amazing bloggers.  I had the concepts down of what I wanted to shoot, but I saved photographing the two looks until the day we got home.

Oh, and write the post & edit the photography–all in the one day.

I can’t wait to show you the final looks this month, so stay tuned for more details.  Happy to be back; have a beautiful day!
