Hey there!
Some quick news: I haven’t forgotten about our MMS Milk Paint Contest Top 20…they’ve been chosen, but we’ve had some technical issues getting the voting service going, so I’ll get it up and running soon and you guys can vote for your favorites!
I haven’t given you a book update lately, and that’s mainly because I’m chained to my bed writing in my pajamas– the updates aren’t so glamourous.
I don’t know why I thought the first time I wrote a book I’d be sitting by an ocean somewhere and grilling fresh fish at sunset. Nope. I’m in my pajamas with bed hair and coffee running through my veins.
BUT, I am getting this sucker done. It is such an honor, and it is a lot of work, but slowly, one day at a time, the list is getting much shorter. I’m going to write a full behind the scenes post once I’m done, but for now, all I can bear to say is that I’m about 6-8ish projects short of completing that list. Then I’ll move on to some editing and writing the rest of the tutorials..before December 1.
The light is peeking through the tunnel now.
In between projects, I’m trying to snap photos of our products for a 2014 look book…maybe. I’m telling myself I’m going to keep the calendar open for a while and keep some flexibility in my spring life. We’ll see how it lasts.
As a rule, I don’t bring much product home from the shop. But, I broke my rule with this sweet creamware batter bowl…I’m sort of in love with the entire line and maybe one day, I’ll update my dishes for these.
In the meantime, I’ll take prayers for major productivity–that I’ll finish every one of our projects by the end of this week (that would mean I’d finished 67 projects in the last 3 1/2 months. whew!) Plus, you know what that means?
Once the book is handed over, I’ll be able to show you some sneak peeks of some of the projects. (yay!)
Have a great afternoon, y’all!
Oh good it’s not just me then. I sometimes paint furniture in my dressing gown. Ideas just get the better of me some days!!!!,
You have certainly accomplished a lot! Congratulations and it would be wonderful if we could do a Hemingway and go someplace exotic to do our creative endeavors. And I’m sure Papa Hemingway didn’t have children, husband, etc. screaming for his time. You are doing great. I’m anxious to see the book. Don’t get down, you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
WOW! I’m so eager to check out your book! I can’t believe how incredibly productive you are and have already been-I mean, when I read your posts (and yes, I subscribe~ I just LOVE THEM!!!!) I’m blown away at how far you’ve come and how efficient you’ve been with nearly every avenue of your wonderful, overflowing life 🙂 I especially have enjoyed the personal posts about home schooling and how you “juggle” the rest of your life and work in that….SO inspiring! I really just wanted to say in response to your request for prayer about being super productive :), I always tend to pray that my time would be multiplied and my work/practice (I lead worship at my church) would be efficient and productive and that He’d bless my time management, lol! I love working under pressure (a.k.a. waiting til the last minute) but I totally rely on His grace to get me through! 🙂 Much love, peace, provision (mentally, emotionally and physically) and joy to you as you wrap up this chapter (whoa, no pun intended) of your life and enjoy the holidays with those close to your heart <3
First, I wanted to say I LOVE your blog. Totally gives me inspiration ideas for around my home. Second, those plates and turquoise bowls are to die for! Are those available in your online shop?
I’m impressed with all that you do accomplish! I could not do it, I’m afraid. As far as writing in pajamas and with bed head, never fear. I have been caught gardening in my nightie, I paint in my pajamas. Many is the morning that I’m tucked into a chair on my front porch, wearing pajamas and working. Taking time to shower and wear makeup may mean I lose a valuable idea.
