I want to thank you all for your kind words, comments, emails, and messages regarding my grandmother. She was a special and gentle lady–and she will be missed greatly. Your support and prayers mean the world to our family.
Now that things are settling somewhat, it’s time for me to cram prepare for my workshop this weekend!
Um, I mean, tomorrow. Aaaahhhh!!
The workshop will be great, no doubt, but I’m telling you, that’s if we make it there. The house is a wreck and in the shape I would normally never have company in.
We have one set of bathroom cabinets painted and one not…and I’m praying we get the mirror hung in time. I have one of my barstools painted and one not, and plenty more unfinished projects and little messes here and there.
I cleaned all day yesterday and barely made a dent.
Plus, there’s the setting up of the workshop. I’ve got to get it all done today. Good thing we keep all of our paint stocked here and at our fingertips. Natalie is coming today, so that’s going to help–poor thing, she has no idea what’s in store for her.
But the silver lining to the mad cleaning/organizing/setting up?? Getting to hang out with my readers for a solid 4 hours.
There are folks coming from Michigan, Louisiana, Georgia, Florida….you guys amaze me all the time.
I’m so thankful for each and every one of you that visit this little blog and your comments (even the ones about paint and furniture) literally lift me a few inches off the ground. It’s been such a journey and adventure, and I couldn’t ask for better friends to share it with.
If you need us tomorrow, we’ll all be up to our eyeballs in paint. In my dining room.
So excited! If you need extra help, I’d be happy to get there a little early! 🙂
I hope it all goes well! I’m sure it will be so much fun!!! I was sad that I couldn’t come to this workshop…my daughter turns 25 on Sunday and she is here for her Birthday weekend. Maybe next time! 🙂
I SO WISH I LIVED CLOSER TO YOU! SOUNDS LIKE SOOOO MUCH FUN. I WOULD LOVE JUST TO SIT IN THAT BEAUTIFUL DINING ROOM LET ALONE LEARN HOW TO PAINT FROM THE BEST!
I can’t wait to see the finished product! Have crazy amounts of fun!
good luck, hope the fun outweighs all that stress! i would really like to order some chalk paint and am wondering if it comes with instructions or if you need to attend a workshop.
i will contact you next week when your life isn’t insane!
No one will notice what is done and what isn’t done! They are there to meet you and learn from you.
Shaunna, I just have to tell you my little story – I’m one of your biggest fans and I tried to order some chalk paint to be mailed to my home in AZ about a month ago and it didn’t work out. My hubby and I were lucky enough to purchase a small condo in Gulf Shores to be near our daughter and granddaughter who live in Mobile. We got into AL last week and I ordered some 4 oz paint samples from you and it only took one day to get them. I’m soooo excited – that paint is really going to help me make a home out of this condo that has been a rental for a very long time. Anyway, I’m just wondering, when is your next workshop?? I would soooo love to attend while I’m here in AL. I know it’s a long shot, but do you have the date scheduled for the next workshop yet? The thought of meeting you and attending a workshop at your house has me a little over the moon! Can’t wait to find out! Jeannie-JB
I am so jealous….would have loved to come to the workshop!! But I am soooo enjoying playing with me new Annie Sloan paints that I ordered from you!!! Have fun!!
Shaunna,
Don’t you worry about a thing regarding your lovely home. All of us DIY-ers are always in the midst of painting, cleaning or working on SOMETHING, so all those attending the workshop will certainly understand because they have been in the same boat sometime in their life.
It’ll ALL work out and be just WONDERFUL – just give it to the Lord, honey…He’s in the midst of all those little details, too.
I wish I could attend a workshop with you, but alas I am sick and unable to travel. I just bought a desk for my art and crafting and I desperately need to paint it. I am assuming given the fact that I am in no shape to sand or prep it, that chalk paint would be the way to go. Could you contact me about buying some of your Annie Sloan chalk paint? I have never painted or refinished anything before, but I have heard such good things about this paint that I am hoping I can do it!
Thanks
Maureen
Hi Shauna. I’m sure the workshop was great! Question – Are your how-to videos still on the blog? I can’t find them. Thanks, Pam
