It’s been a while since our latest home reno, and Matt and I have enjoyed the little break of just living.
Ya know what I mean?
However, our built-in building, room-painting, nail-gunning fingers are twitching to get started on a new project.
Our list is looong, but we have already gotten started on a couple of small projects that will equal a WOW redo (in our humble opinions), and we plan to tackle each of them one at a time, at our own pace. I also plan for us to complete each room/space–from start to finish before moving on to the next.

Since several of our upcoming projects involve planking something, I thought I’d feature some of my favorite planked spaces.
This is one of my all-time favorites–that feature wall of reclaimed planks is breathtaking.
Striped planks on the floor and horizontals on the wall–love it.
This one is so classic and fresh–I could say something about each photo, but I think I’ll let them do the talking.

And believe it or not, I actually love the rooms that have gotten planked in our own home…
What are we working on, you ask?
Well, let’s just say at least 4 spaces in our home are on their way to being planked one way or another. We’ve already started documenting each project, so you won’t miss a thing. Believe it or not, writing room is up first! Want to take a guess at what we are changing in there?
I’m totally with you on your love of planked walls! Also, I think you’ve got every right to like the ones in your home; they turned out beautifully!
My favorite of that collection of photos is definitely the one with the salvaged plank accent wall. That herringbone brick floor kills me!
Hope your feeling ALL better today. If I’d been at Haven, I promise I would have come to your room to help cheer you up. 🙂
Love Love Love planks. What do you think? Would they look good down a hallway? I’m pinning the planks you displayed. My favorite is the rustic one that’s painted blue and white. Dreamy!
Love all those pictures! Would love to plank something sometime. I’m curious if that much wood absorbs sound or makes rooms louder? I have a room with windows and ceiling very much like the first photo and have always dreamed of adding planks or beams but afraid it will be even louder than it is now.
Hey Shauna, cant wait to see what you do! I just wanted to let you know the photo from House of Turquoise was from her blog, but she was featuring an amazing house (my all time fav!!) from one if her readers. (and maybe you already knew that :)The tour took 5 days to show all the pics of this home (the owner is herself a photographer). Here is a link to day one if your readers want to follow up w this amazing home!

I love this look…is it difficult to pull off/install? Do you have to do anything special to paint them once they are up on the walls?
What an inspiring post! I love every single one of these spaces!
I absolutely love the first photo- it is a WOW room to be sure..
I love the clean look of the rooms when it is planked- but you should
have seen the BARN wood ( unfiinshed ) at a 45 degree angle ALL
the way up 17.5 feet on each side of our fireplace. it was more like
a YIKES 🙂 instead of a WOW..
Great post also about the still voice- sent it to my sister- having a hard
time feeling like she is “enough” at the moment. A simple post- but
powerful. Thanks
Hmmm…I have an idea… 😉
