This little guy turned 3 the other day…
and had a jam-up sailboat birthday party. My incredibly talented friend (and Benjamin’s mommy), Lauren, asked me to snap a few pics of the party so she could let her camera skills rest for the day, and enjoy said cutie.
I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. It was an ADORABLE party, with little bits of nautical sprinkled here and there…you might even notice a few items from our house. We like our nautical, after all.
Be sure to let your eyes take in all the little details…
See what I mean?!? Sooo cute! Oh, and did I mention Lauren and her hubby, Rick, built the sailboat sandbox for Benjamin?!? Yep. Give her some major kudos, will ya? And leave any questions you have in the comments and we’ll help you out!
Birthday’s are in the air here…I have a pirate lego birthday party to plan and have already started pinning ideas.
I’ve gotta know…tell me what you’re planning for your little one’s special day and where’s your favorite place to get inspiration?
See you next time, sailor.
Love the sailboat theme! So cute! Tyler is turning 3, Sept 11, and we are planning a dinosaur party. Complete with digging for fossils and little appliqued dinosaur shirts for the party favors. :)Love planning kids parties! 🙂
When my kiddo was that age, he loved dinosaurs too! We purchased a realistic fossil bone kit you’re supposed to put together to form a skeleton. Instead, I would always send my dad or husband to the park ahead of us, and bury them in the sand. Bentley always loved to ‘excavate’ for the ‘real’ bones!
That sounds FUN!!! Good luck with it!! And I love em too.

This makes me want a little boy! (I have 3 girls ) I love the cake, did she make it?
Hey Danielle,
She had one of our friends from church make it…and she does a beautiful job! It turned out sooo great!

Oh my goodness! 1. Could Benjamin be any cuter than in that first pic?!? His eyes, shirt, and ocean just exude blue! Awesome job with that picture!!! 2. Love the nautical birthday! (My family owns a boat dealership, and we are just suckers for anything nautical!) So tasteful and playful at the same time! Thanks for sharing!
My two favorite things, (besides the birthday boy. What a cutie!!) were the adorable sailboat sand box (amazing) and that birthday cake was adorable.
Thank you for capturing these amazing pictures of Benjamin’s party. You and Lauren are so blessed to have each other’s friendship and these adorable children. God bless you!
Planning a mermaid party for middle of September. I’m using Pinterest too, but I’m not finding a WHOLE lot of inspiration 🙁 Why oh why did she choose a mermaid theme? My son’s White Sox themed party this summer was the easiest thing in the world!!
Oooh, a mermaid theme could be sooo much fun!! I’ll think on it….what have you planned so far?
🙂

Well, I’m not a fan of decorating with any kind of Disney stuff so Ariel is out 😉 What I’ve found so far is all just kind of “under the sea” you know? I’m decorating with lots of balloons and hanging pom-poms in blues and turquoise. I’m making these cute oyster cookies with “pearls” inside, white chocolate covered raisins (thank you pinterest)! And I thought I’d attempt to make those beautiful macarons, but we’ll see how that goes! But I still can’t figure out how to actually get some MERMAID in there for my sweet little soon to be 4 year old!!
Hi!! If you want to do a cute “under the sea” cake – see an idea here that I used before: http://familyfun.go.com/recipes/under-the-sea-cake-686557/
Make me want to sail away lol! Too cute for your little sailor man!
oh my, what an adorable little redhead he is!
I started palnning both of my girls parties. Their birthdays are 9 days apart! my almost 5 yr old wants a Rapunzel party and my almost 3 yr old will be getting a rainbow party! SHould be interesting with a 4 week old thrown in the mix 🙂 Wish me luck and prayers because I will need both.
What an amazing birthday party! I love every detail and decoration!! Awesome job photographing as well! 🙂
so adorable–especially love the drink labels!
Such a sweet birthday. Living by the sea, my family loves everything nautical. Perhaps, I’ll do this for my son’s 3rd too. He is turning 2 tomorrow and we are just doing something quiet with his grandparents this year. Thanks for sharing the lovely photos. Birthdays are just so special.
Thank you for putting pics of the cake I made for Benjamin in your blog! I’ve been following you for sometime and LOVE your ideas and sense of style. Keep up the great work!

This birthday party is to die for!!! I am doing a sailboat theme for my sons 1st birthday and I just love all of her ideas. Do you have any idea what she used for the sails in the apples? Also, how did she make those adorable hats?? Any help would be appreciated.
