I’ve been painting like mad. Mad, I tell you.
I have worked on a piece or two of furniture everyday, and over the last week, began pulling together some smaller repurposed finds for the vault space.
I never knew my paintbrush would last so long. Or that I could fall in love with chalk paint even more.
I’ve had this french provencal mirror for a while now, and I finally became inspired to paint it. I painted the base coat in Louis Blue Chalk Paint, then dry brushed the top with Old Ochre Chalk Paint. I then waxed with a dark and clear coat.
I love blue and bits of gold peeking through. I loved the whole mirror…it sold the first day I took it to the shop. 🙂
I couldn’t have a space without typography or signs….I made this one out of an old piece of MDF we had laying around in the garage and painted it with Old White and Aubusson Blue. I’ll show you the process soon.
I’m also really into repurposing vintage trays lately…this one I painted and stamped with French script.
It’s sort of been a blast to pull together old things to repurpose into something current and beautiful (to me, anyway).
🙂
They look STUNNING!
Can’t wait to try the chalk paint 🙂
Thanks for getting me inspired to pull out the paint brush again!
Hi Shauna! I just recently opened my own booth, too, yesterday at our local concepts mall “Winnie & Tululah’s” I sold several things the first day and am already in need of a restock! I’m loving the things you did for your booth and I’m lovin’ chalk paint, too! Can I purchase stock in this stuff??
I love the curves on that big mirror. It will look great in your vault space. The Flea Market sign is cute too.
my chalk paint is in route to my house now! I can’t wait to use it on my china cabinet!
ooooH! I love it all! 🙂
It all looks so great!
I have a mirror like yours and you have inspired me to paint it. Maybe I will sell it too!!
I really do adore everything you do. I’m always inspired. And a wee bit jealous of your talent.
Love what you’re doing. The mirror is gorgeous and I’m not surprised it sold the first day! I especially love the flea market sign. Do you deliver to Cali??
Hi Shauna,
Love the chalk paint look…any idea where I can pick some up in New YOrk (Long Island)? Thx!
Keep the inspiration coming 🙂
hi Shaunna – I’m having trouble posting comments to your site. I’ve left a few on your last few posts and just noticed that they arent published. anyway I just wanted to say how great all your stuff is and all the best for the Vault.
cheers Fiona
hi Shaunna – worked out what i was doing wrong posting and recovered my previous comment! so:
………….it all looks fantastic and as though you’ve been working very hard.
I am SO JEALOUS about the chalk paint. Every one is talking about how good it is so I jumped on the internet to find some last night but I’d have to order it from the UK (no stockists in Australia). It’s not too expensive for me to buy (compared to Australian paint prices) but the postage is a killer – 3 litres would cost about $160USD to send – outrageous. So I’ll just chug along using normal paint and continue feeling a bit green with envy everytime I check out my blogroll!
have fun!
cheers Fiona
Great job – I love your creativity!!!
I love that mirror! I need to get me some of that chalk paint. 🙂
Yikes! I can’t find current postings on your blog…I read every day and this problem cropped up yesterday…I can find some old posts when I google, but can’t seem to access current material.
Hey Debbie! Do you mean when you search within the blog or from google?
🙂
