Ok, I’m doing it.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I am SO JOYFUL to be able to tell you that I am now offering services to refurbish/restore YOUR treasures, old and new, big and small! I’ve been pondering the idea for a while now, and it seems everything is falling into place for this journey to begin.  I couldn’t be more nervous, more scared, more excited.

Whether it’s antique that’s been in your family for years, a table with some wear and tear, a great ebay find, or a smaller accessory like this window, it can be beautiful and look the way you want it to!  Realizing this has given me much more liberation in my decorating, and I long to share that with others.

Adding a coat of paint, new feet, or some new hardware can completely transform something you already own or that piece you fell in love with.  It’s so freeing to be able to change my style because I haven’t broken the bank buying new furniture or accessories.  Even the smallest items like a small end table or an ornate frame can add such character to our homes and there is no need to pay a fortune for them.
My goal is to offer affordable transformations that can change the way you feel in your home.  Just painting this chair lightened my mood.  Some details on the chair…..
This was bought the year I was born and has been in my room since then.  It now resides in my bathroom under my vanity.  As you can see from above, it was in desperate need of a pick-me-up.  I chose a shade of delicate white for the back and legs and the lightest shade of dove grey for the supports and the seat just for an added bit of interest.  (after all, not everyone loves white furniture like myself 🙂
Some close-up’s of the distressing…..

I am really pleased with the way the pieces I’ve done are turning out….and there are LOTS more on my personal project list.  I’m trying to convince my mom to let me do a sideboard for her and there is lots more to come on the doors…..
that will become a daybed.  Do you remember how red they were?  Much work and much love later, we are seriously on our way now! What do you think?  Do you like the chair and the finish of the door?  I need feedback, so make my day and tell me your thoughts! 🙂
I’m so excited to share this journey with you, my sweet readers, and know that you’ll probably get more than you were bargaining for!  It’s so nice to share a piece of yourself with others in the hope to inspire or encourage them–(speaking of that, cannot wait to show you a chandelier transformation and a pottery barn knock-off throw pillow tutorial!)
For now, my plan will be to transform pieces people bring to me, with the hopes of one day being able to “treasure hunt”, restore, and sell them.  Secretly, I would love the opportunity to treasure hunt for someone and help them find the perfect piece with the perfect lines at the perfect price…and then make it look exactly the way they want it to look!  I’m smiling now even as I type.
So…..to get going a bit and give you another before and after……
my newest craigslist find….this beautiful solid wood antique coffee table.  The plan for this piece?
I’m not sure yet.  Still waiting on a lightening bolt of inspiration.  I, of course, would not mind painting it white and distressing it….but well, it’s not for everyone.  What color would you paint it??  I also tend to think a rich ebony black with a little distressing would be gorgeous.  I might add a finial at the X underneath so it would look like this table.  If someone wanted it, of course, I would restore it for them.  What do you think?  please leave me some comments and help a girl out….I can’t wait to find out what you think about all of this!!
Some beautiful detailing….I’m picking it up tomorrow and can’t wait to see how much carving I get to work with.  Depending on the work and what treatments are done, I feel like this piece will sell between $30-50  or maybe even less….just depends on what is done.
If you have furniture or an accessory, large or small, that you’d like transformed, please email me and we’ll make it fit in your budget and get you a brand new piece for your home!
Can’t wait to get started.
Thanks for visting and it wouldn’t hurt my feelings if you wanted to share this news with everyone!
