The Market on Chapel Hill Displays

By |October 18th, 2016|

We had blast at this year’s Market on Chapel Hill…

After my decision to turn PI into a design studio, we brought way less.  We stuck to my typical palette of wood/white focal pieces and mixed in some accents and smalls.

Our backs mostly thanked us.

These white crocks.  With the preserved leaves.

And the heirloom pumpkins….

Antique Desk Chair, Vintage Camp Stool, & Other Stuff

By |October 26th, 2015|

One of my favorite parts of prepping for the Market on Chapel Hill is designing and working on the pieces we find scouring flea markets & antique malls.  I’d been keeping my eye out for an old desk chair, and the girls found one nearby.

I honestly love these chairs in their original state, but this […]

The Market on Chapel Hill: Antique Hall Cabinet

By |September 22nd, 2015|

Well, we’re in high gear for The Market on Chapel Hill, and have (yikes) a little less than two weeks to get everything loaded in the truck and on the way to Pike Road.

Most of the pieces we’ve found this year needed full overhauls, but this antique cabinet just needed a little hemp oil on […]

The Market on Chapel Hill Inspiration: Wood & White

By |September 14th, 2015|

The Market on Chapel Hill, formerly known as The Chapel Market is less than a month away, and we’re panicked prepping like crazy.

We are busy shopping for some small finds and we still need a few more furniture pieces.  The girls may kill me if I ask them to paint the base coat on one […]

Chapel Market 2014 Displays

By |November 13th, 2014|

The Chapel Market has become this event we at PI look forward to all year.  Fun fact:  I love meeting blog readers, and get to meet so many of you at the market.  I do, however, get nervous and begin to profusely sweat from approximately 11 a.m. on Friday morning til 7 p.m. on Saturday […]

Boxwood Planter & Cotton Stems

By |November 4th, 2014|

Hey, friends!

I’m still weeding through Chapel Market photos to show you of our booth while we’ve been shooting this last week.  I’ll share those with you soon, but we painted so many random pieces that I haven’t even shown you yet.

Last year our bestseller was our preserved cotton stems…by far.  So this year, we took […]

Behind The Scenes: Chapel Market Prep & the Beginnings of Fall

By |September 8th, 2014|

Time has been simply passing so quickly these days in the shop.  We’re working on so many fun projects I can hardly stand it.  Sure, there’s the business to deal with (but I love that part just as much), and there are tedious tasks.  For instance, this week we had to clean out roughly 1,000 […]

Book Launch Party Details

By |September 3rd, 2014|

Well, after a few days of photo uploading issues, we’re back in action here in our favorite place. Thanks for all of your sweet comments on the book launch party video…it was such a fun night! I couldn’t wait to share some details of the evening with you.  Since we were hosting the party […]

Shop Displays & a Chapel Market Sneak Peek

By |August 20th, 2014|

It’s that time of year when the January market orders have all mostly arrived and some of the July market orders come in.

When the shop looks like it’s about to bust wide open with product.

It’s exciting and nerve wracking all at once.  We’ll be set from now until the end of the year, but it’s […]

The Chapel Market

By |October 24th, 2013|

Hey there, lovely people!

So I showed you our space at The Chapel Market, and after we were finished setting up, we breathed a sigh of relief.  I was pretty proud of how quickly it came together and that we made it to Montgomery with no broken jars.

Our Chapel Market Displays

By |October 23rd, 2013|

Well, The Chapel Market was a whirlwind!

On Friday morning we loaded up my SUV, Matt’s truck, Julie’s car, and a 16 foot U-haul.  We were absolutely drenched with sweat by the time we got to the chapel around lunchtime.

In a few hours, we had the place looking […]

The Chapel Market, What I’m Bringing part 2

By |October 17th, 2013|

The guys at the shop have been busy this week, pricing, tagging, packing, and pulling items from the floor.  We are almost ready for The Chapel Market, and that’s a good thing because we load up in the morning.

I wanted to share a few more of the items we’re bringing with […]

A Paint Party & Chapel Market Prep

By |October 8th, 2013|

If you could see the back of our shop sometimes…

It can be messy and nasty, or clean and tidy.  But what it always is, is paint-filled.

We could have a paint party at any moment of any day.  And a Kraft paper party.

Or a box party.

Ikea, Anthropologie, & Book Projects

By |September 4th, 2013|

I’m all off because of the holiday.

I’m walking around calling it Monday and thinking about how yesterday we didn’t even think about going to church.  I’m thinking about how weird the day feels and how it’s one day closer to my book deadline.

Oh, and I can barely get out […]

The Chapel Market-What I’m Bringing

By |August 19th, 2013|

Happy Monday, friends!  We spent the weekend helping a certain friend of ours build some walls in his office space.  More accurately, Matt spent the weekend doing that and I spent it a little under the weather.  New day, though.

I hope to get a ton done this week, but I wanted […]

The Chapel Market

By |June 28th, 2013|

Hello friends!

I’ve got some exciting news to share with you today!

When my friend, Layla, from The Lettered Cottage asked if I wanted to join in a fun, vintage-goods-filled market that she and Mary from Urban Farmgirl were hosting, it took a few seconds to make sure I […]
