On Answering Great Questions & A Company Called Sevenly

By |August 14th, 2017|

I’ve been thinking about questions lately.  The ones I ask myself.  The ones I want other people to answer.  The ones that make me think.

What is the most challenging thing you’ve done lately?

To answer this question, we gotta ramble a little…

So here’s some news.  But first, back to the beginning.  Or middle.  Or however you […]

Meet Marsh Collective-A Video Series for You

By |March 16th, 2017|

Every time I’ve sat down to tell you more about the people I work with now, I just sort of stare at the screen.  I’m serious.  I just get stuck.  This is not because there’s not a lot to say, in fact, it’s the opposite.  There is so much, too much even, to say about […]

Side Track Coffee Design – Before & After

By |March 1st, 2017|

One of the projects I came into at the beginning of my collaborating with Marsh Collective was the design for Side Track Coffee…

Since I came in at the end, I had nothing to do with the actual design minus input on that bright green under the bar and shaking my head up and down that yes, […]

Stephanie’s Playroom- Wallpaper Installed!

By |November 21st, 2016|

Whew.  Well the blog/site have been dooowwwnnn for about 3 weeks.  Thanks for your patience there, guys.

Since then, Stephanie’s playroom is pretty much complete.  I only have to hang a couple more pieces of art and shoot the space.  Remember I said we had a little set back with a leak?  While first decided to […]

Stephanie’s Playroom Inspiration & Design Board

By |October 25th, 2016|

Now for the good stuff.

I told you about Stephanie’s girls’ playroom we’ve been working on…

The main objective was to refresh the look of the space and reorganize the girls’ art/playing school supplies and give them a more grown up place to lounge.

We’ve changed some things (remember we had a wallpaper incident, so we no longer […]

Design Project- Stephanie’s Playroom

By |October 20th, 2016|

I told you a while back we’ve been taking on design clients again, and when I tell you I love it…I love it.  And I missed delving into these projects so much.  That, writing, and photography are my favorite parts of what I do.

I’ll be sharing all the projects here on the blog, and I’ll keep […]

The Market on Chapel Hill Displays

By |October 18th, 2016|

We had blast at this year’s Market on Chapel Hill…

After my decision to turn PI into a design studio, we brought way less.  We stuck to my typical palette of wood/white focal pieces and mixed in some accents and smalls.

Our backs mostly thanked us.

These white crocks.  With the preserved leaves.

And the heirloom pumpkins….

Lord at the […]

Fall

By |October 5th, 2016|

Because heirloom pumpkins might be one of my very favorite things on earth.

Forget a bouquet of flowers.  Give me pretty pumpkins.

We’re slowly recovering from The Market on Chapel Hill…all the display pics coming soon!

Happenings at Factory South

By |September 9th, 2016|

It’s been a hot minute since we talked about Factory South.

We opened the store in April 2015 and this, if you remember, is what it looked like…

We moved things around here and there, but overall it maintained the same feel and style.  As time passed, we decided to sell the brand to the folks I’m working […]

Creamware Dessert Pots, Fishs Eddy Sprinkles, & Photo Shoots

By |September 7th, 2016|

We’re currently buzzing around PI.

Literally.

I have 2-3 huge design projects going right now (yep I’ll fill you in soon), and we’re gearing up for The Market on Chapel Hill and the fall shopping season for the online store.  My work in Opelika has been busy and exciting, and I have news to share on that […]

Photo Shoots & Sneak Peeks

By |August 19th, 2016|

Y’all.

I know you do it too.

I just put some decisions off and off and off.  And when I bite the proverbial bullet, I wonder why it took me so long.  Working in the more studio-like store this week has been incredible.  Really.

I’ll show you how we’ve rearranged the space after some final pieces come together, […]

Southern Living Inspired Home: Dining Room & Guest Room

By |August 1st, 2016|

It has been a whirlwind of a few weeks for me.  I’ve gone to market for the online store, and we hosted an incredible event at The Southerly last week.  We’re also in high gear preparing for Haven at the end of the week.

I’ll share more details on these trips soon, but in the meantime […]

Southern Living Inspired Home: Study & Master Suite

By |July 8th, 2016|

If you saw my previous post, you know I got to tour The Southern Living Inspired Home in Hampstead in Montgomery, Alabama.

The study & master suite are up today…

How about that bathroom?  Those tiles….that shower.

Let me know if you have any questions about the products or vendors and I’ll see what I can find out […]

Southern Living Inspired Home: Living, Kitchen & Laundry

By |July 5th, 2016|

Recently, I got the opportunity to tour Alabama’s first Southern Living Inspired Home.  I grew up with Southern Living magazines spread on our coffee table and in my mom’s kitchen.  Still to this day, I make Southern Living’s homemade shortcakes with fresh strawberries and cream (about once a year because I get lazy).

But Lord they’re […]

4th of July Shoot

By |June 30th, 2016|

A few weeks ago when I was shooting like mad at The Southerly, we threw together a last minute look to feature a more simple gathering at the space.

We just stumbled upon doing a patriotic theme, and it all started with that vintage table linen.

After we scrounged around their storage, we wound up pulling together […]

The Grape Chandelier

By |June 9th, 2016|

We’ve not really updated much at the beach condo the last two summer seasons.

We tackled the biggest of the projects like our bedrooms, getting paint colors changed, and we updated mine/my brother’s/Sara’s bathroom.

Things were pretty dated here, and darrrrkkk….

But so many pieces were updated with a coat of paint (like my lovely desk chair here), […]

Shooting the Summer Collection

By |June 3rd, 2016|

It’s been a productive (and exhausting) week in the store.  We’ve been getting in new product, painting furniture and new sample boards for our new tinted waxes, and I started shooting the Summer Collection. I’m a little late this time, but I usually don’t let my disorganization get in my way if I decide to […]

The Southerly & Photo Shoots

By |May 25th, 2016|

I recently began working with some pretty incredible folks in Opelika, where Factory South is located.  You know how you just meet some people, and you know they’re just going to be a part of your life?  That’s how it was when I met John and Ashley Marsh.  We worked with them for the opening […]

Spring Mantel & Living Room Plans

By |April 23rd, 2016|

Lord I don’t know where my week went.

Maybe between being sick isn and work, it just sort of disappeared.  I’ve had this post in my queue for almost two weeks.  Never said I was super organized.  Clearly.

I’ve gotten to where I don’t dig changing my mantels out all the time.  I find rotating mantel decor […]

Ugly Cords & Simple Decorating

By |April 12th, 2016|

I remember when I first started writing about my home, it was totally real time.  Photos were barely edited much less styled, and I never thought twice about things like dust on the floor, lego people on tables, & ugly black cords.

And while I never started caring much about those, when this blog became partly about […]
