Kids X-Table

By |March 28th, 2011|

After we finished the playroom last year, we knew we would continue adding accessories and functional pieces over time.  We desperately needed a table for school work, and for Ava’s serious addiction to coloring.

Instead of buying one, we decided we would build our own.

Coffee Table Preview & Dining Room in the Works

By |March 28th, 2011|

It’s like I’ve got a fire under my pa-tooty.  Or toes.  Or, well, anyway, the fire’s lit and I’m a woman on a mission.  There were some updates behind the scenes this weekend on the blog, and not being able to think about posting was good for the project column.

Master Bedroom Updates

By |March 7th, 2011|

It’s very rare that I show a room I’m not quite happy with.  As a matter of fact, with the exception of an occasional household-mess-post, I don’t think I have.

Over a year ago, when I decided to forgo the urge to decorate “just like so and so, etc.,” I really couldn’t wait to get my […]

Our Organizational Nightmare

By |March 6th, 2011|

People that visit our home on a daily or weekly basis would not categorize us as “neat.”  We do not have a house keeper, and I often find myself barely […]

Sideboard Before and After

By |March 2nd, 2011|

This post seems so long overdue.  You’ve seen this after a million times, but I haven’t ever written a reveal post.

Which means you haven’t seen the before in quite some time.

One fateful day at the beginning of my business, I ran across this guy…

And was told by many that it was ridiculous.

But I could see […]

The Vintage Spool and Words to Live By

By |February 21st, 2011|

It feels so great to be home.  SO great.  If you follow on Twitter, you know that Matt and I took our youth to a conference in Tennessee.

Much of my weekend was spent here…

We had such a blast, although I’m convinced that much time in a 15 passenger van is good for no one. (note: […]

Sneak Peek of the Kids’ Table…

By |February 17th, 2011|

Well, I couldn’t resist showing you a peek…

I got some exciting news from Ana White yesterday.  She wants to draw up some plans of our table and include them in the book.  (this is me secretly screaming “yay!!”)  In a calm and self-controlled voice, of course.
You’ll get to see the full reveal next week and […]

Loving Pinterest and Unifying Our Home

By |February 12th, 2011|

Have you guys found Pinterest yet?I first found it a few weeks ago when Beth shared it with us all.  Thanks, girl! It’s simply the coolest way to create inspiration boards using images from all around the web.  I may have been on it for an hour this morning.:-)Over the last year, I’ve really figured out my […]

One Tiny Room Down

By |January 3rd, 2011|

and a few to go.
Over the weekend, we tackled this mess…

And when I say “we,” these three were pretty much zero help.
But that’s okay.
With just a little organization, I got it put back together pretty quickly.

It’s not California Closets beautiful, but we are talking about a toddler here.
The point for me was not perfection or […]

By |December 30th, 2010|

After a little thought, I decided my homie, Layla, deserved a post dedicated to her awesome linky party.  Head over there to check out her favorites of the year and more blogland makeovers!

A Book Is a Place…

By |November 5th, 2010|

I’m just a tad obsessed with books.I may have been the most cramped and uncomfortable I’ve ever been, but hey, that book was awesome.I remember I began to read poetry around the age of 12…that’s also the time I became obsessed with quotes, and even now, I want to be surrounded by writings that inspire me, motivate […]

Little Changes, Big Finish

By |August 19th, 2010|

Well, hey there, friends.
Don’t you love technology??
I have to say, I officially have a bit of a problem.  I’ve been biting my nails off the last two days because I’ve not been able to turn on my computer.  The charger just stopped working….the same day my large flash stopped working too, I might add.
So, even […]

On the Living Room…

By |June 26th, 2010|

I looked back, and apparently not.  :)This is not a super detailed post, but I did want to give you the overall feel…A little better view of the entertainment center/fireplace.  That corner fireplace…aaagghh.  So difficult!  :)As soon as I can quit painting furniture. So, keep being patient with me.  As you guys are so gracious at […]

Ecclectic (or strange) Entryway

By |May 10th, 2010|

I know, I know.  I’ve been avoiding it.  You have mostly no idea what it looks like.  But, to be fair, we have been COVERED in furniture heading upstairs. Just to give you an idea of what I’m talking about….this is all the pieces of furniture (including our living room pieces) that have been residing in […]

Spiffing Up the Master, part 1

By |February 19th, 2010|

Ok.  Here’s the dilema.  You know how you read those articles (or blogs if you’re me) that talk about “design on a dime” or “budget decorating?”  Well, they offer great tips on spending less and making the most of your money (keep these coming, please!), like buying new throw pillows or window treatments or a new comforter, etc.  […]
