Fall Crafts-Painted Pumpkins

By |September 6th, 2013|

Y’all know how I am about crafting.

I love the results, but I’m not so into the folding of tiny papers or the stamping of handmade linen towels…I’m so impressed with the folks that are.

There’s a whole section of my book dedicated to the semi-handmade, the quick and easy projects […]

Happy weekend, friends!

We’re in Florida celebrating the 4th and spending time with my family.  It’s a little crowded here, but we are enjoying the time together….feeds this mama’s soul.

While we’re here, and you’re there (wherever you are!), we wanted you to know we’re thinking about you!

By |June 3rd, 2013|

Happy Monday to you guys!

Matt and I spent our weekend purging the garage–and let me tell you something: it was hoarder central in there!  We barely made it out of there.

Well, a little dramatic, but it. was. bad.

Before we show you the scariness that is our garage’s […]

he built me a wall

By |April 25th, 2013|

You know how some girls like getting flowers?

I feel that way about planks.

My guy just built me a wall.

We needed a “slow down & take a look” moment when you walked in our shop doors.  Our space is so open, so this wall gives us […]

Beach House Decorating Project

By |April 22nd, 2013|

So, my mom and dad recently bought my grandparent’s beach condo in Panama City Beach, Florida.  It’s a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, with a great living space, small dining room, a huge Master dressing room that we plan on converting to a kids’ bedroom, and a decent size kitchen.

The good news […]

After opening our new shop in Troy, we were more than thrilled to begin working on our online store.  With almost 1,000 items now listed in addition to our Chalk Paint(R)  (which we’re still CRAZY about!!), it took quite a bit of time.

By |December 5th, 2012|

It’s a wonderful life.

We’re busy, and yet, I find that we are fighting for simplicity.

We are choosing to say no to some activities this year, and honestly, we’ve gotten too sick for some.  As bittersweet as it is to miss some of these things, we have had time to […]

cottage chest makeover

By |November 29th, 2012|

Well, it seems like forever since I’ve shown you a furniture makeover around these parts.  I’ve painted plenty, but rarely gotten around staging and shooting.

So I’ve decided to be a little less worried about such things, and snap a picture literally as the pieces are on their way out the door.

And […]

Ava’s Painted Floors

By |September 10th, 2012|

Well, way back when in the middle ages, I decided to make over Ava’s room.

This was BEFORE we took her crib down, and the plan was to transition straight into a big-girl room.

I’ve found with both kids this gets them all excited about being in their own big beds–which […]

Gilding Wax Giveaway!!

By |August 14th, 2012|

Back when I introduced my little Florence side table to you, I promised more details on the gilding I used…

I’ve never used much gilding, as my style leans toward farmhouse & cottage, and a little less to French.

BUT…this stuff?

It was amazing.  It took […]
