Today I have the day to all to myself.
I slept in until 9.
I had breakfast in bed, boiled eggs and a whole grain waffle. The kitchen is still gutted so quick, healthful food is the key. I’ve been sick all week so today I gave myself permission to be ultra-lazy.
I watched a movie in bed and laughed and even cried a little. I played great music through the speakers and journaled a little.
I edited photos I snapped with my new camera, which I’m in desperate, ridiculous love with.
I picked fresh cucumbers and tomatoes from the garden, and even slow-cooked it all in the crockpot while I made myself a raw veggie lunch. I read powerful words from a powerful book.
I enjoyed today.
I lived slowly, and purposefully, and happy. Don’t get me wrong: it’s strange to be alone for this amount of time, but it. is. good.
I had today because I’m married to an amazing man who is an unbelievable father. To him and all of the men who give us mamas a slow Saturday and to those men who helped us grow up…Happy, beautiful Father’s Day. My cup runneth over.
I’ll go back to crying now.
Received your new book in the mail from Amazon today. I am so excited! We are leaving in the morning heading south to the beach and I will be reading it all the down.

So love that foto of daddy with his little girl.
I can’t imagine sleeping in till nine. My internal clock is messed from having a baby and getting older. I can’t sleep in any more! Enjoy it while you can!
But still and all, naps are welcome.
Camera shopping is on my agenda, and I would love to know what your “new camera” is…the one you are in “desperate, ridiculous love with.” 😉
I am SO Excited Shaunna my book arrived today as well!!! It’s beautiful- going to lie here in bed and flip through every page. Thank you for sharing your ideas.
I stumbled upon a blog post by Belgian Pearls about the new Nancy Meyers movie. Several photos from Nancy’s Instagram was shared, and I may be crazy, but it looks like Nancy used this beautiful photo of your husband and child on her inspiration board. I don’t have a blog, so I don’t know all the ins and outs of linking posts and other blogs, but maybe you could do a search? I actually found it as a link on Vignette Designs sidebar, so maybe that would help. If that is your family, I thought you would be excited to see it! I love your blog and that photo was just so precious, that I remembered it!
