I have something weird to tell you.
So this summer, I started having these weird chest pains (all chest pain is alarming, right?). I went to the doc, and after a whole bunch of tests, he determined I had this very long fancy word for “you-lifted-too-much-weight-working-out-and-tore-muscles-from-your-sternum-syndrome.” It is literally possible for your sternum to become severely inflamed and for all the tiny muscle fibers and joints to ache so much you are flat convinced you just might be having a heart attack.
Really.
Apparently, it’s a reoccurring condition, too. So I’m thinking I’m better and rested and begin working out like normal again, and well, here I am again. Feeling like there might be a spiky boulder growing in the center of my chest and lying in the bed completely out of it due to the no-joke muscle relaxers.
Here’s hoping a little R & R will get me back on my feet in no time. P.S. There may or may not be some excerpts from the book written during this time. I can’t promise those are going to make the most sense.
Now that it’s 7 p.m. and I’m finally awake/alert enough, I wanted to show you this little spot in little girl’s room. Ava’s room makeover is one of my favorites, and finding the perfect accents has taken time. While I was hanging up some clothes last week before Grayson’s party, I found this little dress that Ava wore a few times…and it was mine when I was a little girl.
It was just so simple and sweet, and I’d been planning on using this new wrapping paper we carry at the shop in her room…the stripes just make me happy and are instantly artful.
And no framing/shadow box piece was necessary. I just opened the (Ribba) frame up, plopped the dress and paper in, and voila.
Done.
I love it so much, it has me eyeing all of Grayson’s jerseys and baby clothes and even some other textiles for the office.
Hope you have an amazing weekend and let us know if you decide to frame something simple yourself!
P.S. Stay tuned for more of our awesome new finds/paper products.

I love this. 🙂 Rest up, my friend.
I love it!! Wish I’d kept more of my daughter’s baby things to display. I also sewed some really cute outfits for my boys. One last word – don’t overdo and get your rest. All things will wait, there is no reason to tax yourself. Take care.
Costochondritis. It really hurts! I’ve seen many patients who thought they were having a heart attack!
Although you have had this before, please just make sure that it is just what you think it is and not a heart attack. Just looking out for you. Love the framed dress !
Yikes! I love your little dress framed. Simply beautiful, and I LOVE your blog. Wish I didn’t live so far away….(Oklahoma) I would love to come to your store…..someday 🙂
Beautiful! I love the contrast of the delicate white dress and the bright stripes.
I recently framed some old calendar pages to use as art, you can see the post here: http://livingdesign-cb.blogspot.com/2013/10/a-month-of-small-fixes-calendar-art.html

sorry love be well..I’ve got to put baby Eddy’s Christening gown in one of the frames..rest my dear
Been having symptoms like this the past year. Have an appointment with the cardiologist on the 22nd. I have kept thinking it might be the muscle or something. Just haven’t been convinced it was my heart. I do work out regularly. I’m thinking this could be just what I have!! Thanks for this post. I have something more concrete to share with the doctor. Blessings to you for a speedy recovery!
I feel for you as I did the same thing to my chest-ripped muscle and just about unable to breathe. I also love the little miniatures on Ava’s dresser. I am a child at heart when it comes to dollhouses!
I’m so glad you showed us Ava’s room. I have two daughters. And two daughters’ dresses that ought to be framed. I’d forgotten I had them or even what I should do with them—thank you for this post… 🙂 I’m going to get to Hobby Lobby and find some frames 🙂 Blessings to you as you make your home!
