Well I’m out of days.
I will say I’m quite pleased I even managed 29 out of 31 days in the busiest month of my life.
Yesterday, I literally felt as if my head would spin and spin and spin until it popped completely off.
Really. We ran in and out of the shop all day, running errand after errand, making phone call after phone call–painting more furniture & styling a little more. Then we topped the day off with trick or treating and sugar overload (that part was lots of fun).
Picture me. Plus spinning. Plus head popping off.
I was going to break my neck to finish all the posts today, but you know what?
I just can’t. And that’s okay…you guys are the best, most supportive group of friends this world has to offer. So, I’ll finish the series, don’t worry. And there will be more posts coming on the shop as we totally finish up the styling before the Grand Opening on the 10th. We’ll reveal the shop for the opening, and I’m trying to come up with a way you guys can check in online…wouldn’t that be fun??? And you’d get entered for some of our drawings that way!
Let me know in the comments if you have any ideas on how I pull that off.
Oh, and Matt and I decided that the person that comes the farthest for the Grand Opening will be awarded a Milk Paint package! So, gas up your cars and make the trip…I’m so excited y’all.
Oh I want to come! It would be about 1000 miles for me. I’m from Mississippi originally (live in DC now) but I’m already trying to scheme how I can make the drive over during the Christmas holidays…
I’ve really enjoyed this month and watching your shop come to life. I’m so excited to see more and will keep you in my prayers and you continue working hard.
Thanks for being such an inspiration!
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful story. It has really inspired me to do the same and open my own shop. I, too, am a huge fan of Annie Sloan’s Chalk paint and have wanted to sell it and the furniture painted with it. I am also a papercrafter and make my own cards.
I recently inherited my grandparents store, not quite as large as your space but at least half that. Their store was in existence for 75 years and I pretty much grew up there as a child. These are my fondest memories. I can attest your children will love the experience.
I think God has placed this desire in my heart and I have not yet acted upon it. I believe now he has lead me to your blog, furthering my desire. I love people and making people happy, just like my grandparents did all those years. I can see you will do the same with your beautiful store and maybe someday I can come visit.
Thanks again for sharing and God Bless your store – Perfectly Imperfect, and your family.
What’s the address of the shop? I’m explaining to my husband why we need to drive there from Houston, Texas!
Congratulations on your newest baby!
LOL, Katie. It’s 52 East Court Square, Troy, AL. 36081

You could have people check in online by hosting a wish we were there shop opening link party! I’m not sure how that would work for any readers who don’t have blogs. They could just leave a comment, perhaps! So excited to see the shop but I’m in Emily’s boat. MD is pretty far away. 🙁
I’m very excited for you and your family. Loved following the progress. Your space is excellent! Can’t wait to see more!
I would love to somehow participate in the grand opening online, but will be happy to see photos either way 🙂 BEST of luck!
Hey! Try USTREAM to live stream your grand opening. We’ve used it on events before. It’s not as reliable the paid live streaming set ups but it could do the trick. All you would need is a video camera, laptop with internet access and the software you download from USTREAM. Email me if you have any questions. I’m semi familiar with it but my team is much more savvy with live streaming.
Thanks Kristen!!!

Have been following for the 31 days…..I soooo wish I could be there!! Love the USTREAM idea. Hope to see things listed in your online shop soon. Love those pinecones!
Thanks so much for sharing the glimpses of your newest project. Each post has been so fun and your shop looks like it will be a delight. I am looking forward to your online store (no pressure ) stocking all of your great finds.. You have great taste and I too am addicted to pillows and useful things like glass pine cones. Much luck in your grand opening.
Oh! I so wish I could come see your shop in real life. However, I live in Alaska and in reality will probably never see it :-). It all looks so beautiful, you’ve done an amazing job. I look forward to seeing more pictures as you get it all finished up and ready to open. Thank you for sharing the process with all of us so far away.
Coming from Montgomery is not that far away but I plan to be there! Getting your updates has been so exciting and I can’t wait to see the finished product! How in the world are you going to get over 10,000 people (Facebook friends) in your shop!!! By the way, what’s the address? The navigation unit in my car needs this!!
Hey Della! The address is 52 East Court Square, Troy, Alabama, 36081…I said 079 in a previous comment and that wasn’t right….CAN’T WAIT to see you!!!

Wish I could be there with my daughter and the grands, but hope the day is everything you have hoped for and certainly deserve. Can’t wait to see pictures! Good, good, good luck!
I would love to come and I would probably be in with a good chance to win the milk paint as I am in New Zealand 😉 Sadly it’s just too far. Will be thinking of you though. Best wishes for your opening.
P.S. What is the street address of the shop?
Hey Connie! It’s 52 East Court Square, Troy, Alabama, 36079

I’ll be happy just seeing the pictures and reading about how it made you feel, if you can’t figure out how to let us ‘remote’ fans share in your grand opening. If you figure it out, however, I’d truly love to have me some milk paint!
So excited for your opening!!! (Bet I would win that prize if I could make — I live all the waaaaay over here in the San Francisco Bay Area!!) Good luck to you Shauna, watching you make your dream come true makes me believe that I might actually be able to do the same with mine. 🙂
I continue the process of opening your store and I think it’s wonderful, I love to be there that day, but the trip would be very long from Argentina … From here I look forward to that Great Day!
Greetings from Buenos Aires!
Amanda
You have gotten more accomplished in your little slice of heaven in a month than I have gotten done on mine in 2 years – and I didn’t have a blog to keep up on. So if that’s sluffing by taking time off from a post, I can’t wait to see what you get done when you rest up.
Bliss
We opened our retail location “Living on the Bliss” Sept 14th. It’s the most work you’ll ever do, but on opening day your face will hurt from smiling!
I’m so excited for you Shaunna! I’m going to try to come! I’m in Birmingham if anyone else from this area wants to carpool!
Let me know! Atd527@gmail.com
Awesome, Alima!! That would mean the world to us! And thanks for the carpooling offer!

Wish I could come the farthest! Next time you open up something fabulous or do another amazing workshop, count me in! Good luck – I will pray for peace for you, the fam and your helpers!
I can’t wait to see what you have done with the space and all the goodies you have for sale. So exciting! Do you know what your hours will be for those of us that are driving?
hey Sandra! Hours will be 10-6, Wednesday through Saturday (Even on the grand opening, it’ll be 10-5:30)…We may bump up our days/hours if needed during the holidays, but that’s how we’re starting). Let me know if you have any other questions!

Oh, how I wish I could come. There is no way I could talk the hubster into making the drive from Ohio. I can not wait to see pics of the shop finished up. Good luck on your grand opening.
I am so excited about The Store. What a great treat it will be for our little town, Troy, Al. Blessings to you, your family and your business.
See you on the 8th.
Oh, I would sooooo love to visit all the way from New Jersey but just not possible. Many blessings on your grand opening. Much success!
Well, I have seen the shop with my own eyes and it is wonderful. I just can’t wait to see the final touches and newly done furniture (especially the buffet) that we found on an antiquing trip this summer. Can’t wait for you all to go visit. Hope the last days go smoothly and peacefully for Matt and Shaunna.
I’m planning on coming from Tallahassee. It’s the one week that there’s not an FSU game on Saturday so My hubby will ride with me!! It should be a pretty ride and the destination even prettier! Hope to meet you Shaunna, and you too Matt! Lord bless your last few hours before the Grand Opening!
Oh I wish I could be there! I told James, in an effort to convince him, “But honey, the person that travels the farthest will win a milk paint package….I would surely WIN!”
He glared at me and told me to just go online and order some milk paint. Oh yeah….I forgot I could do that. LOL!
I’ll be there in spirit and can’t wait to hear all about it. Lisa~
Hey Shaunna! I can finally get on your blog today but can’t find your latest posts? This si the latest one I see? Hope all is going well with your new biz and I think you had your opening right?
