I’ve been avoiding the topic.

We’ve all been sick since we came back from Disney World.

Yep.  Bronchitis.

Only we haven’t slowed down, other than to take the kids to the doctor.

On Friday, after working a 12 hour day, I decided I just might not make it to the shop on Saturday.  We are thiiisss close to being done with the painting, and were trying to get done with all things construction so we could get the sawdust and tools out of the shop (forever!).

On Saturday, Gray had a soccer game (P.S. my little guy has become quite the goalie this season and I couldn’t be more excited for him) at 9 a.m., and after, it was time for the kids and I to hit the house–I was getting worse and I had no sitter.  Matt was headed to the shop to build the counter (yay!), and I couldn’t help but feel a little lazy and jealous for missing out.

Turns out I needed that day so badly.  We curled up in the theater and watched a movie, ate pumpkin spice waffles for lunch, visited a friend, and went to bed early.  I was in bed by 8 p.m. & watched 2 episodes of Nashville in my bed alone, and one Once Upon a Time.  I didn’t think much about work, and it was splendidly refreshing.

(Which is great because I literally started wheezing last night and realized I probably let this bronchitis thing get out of hand).

Fast forward to this morning–because I’m officially in the bed yucky sick, I was able to catch up on some of my friends’ blogs.  I have been reading and thrilled about Marian’s book launch & Barb’s Grand Opening…and reading their stories got me all emotional.

Success looks different for everyone, and my day of recharging and dreaming has me all kinds of fired up to make this shop a success…of my own choosing.

I started dreaming about the grand opening & what we could do to make it a special day for you all (I’m hoping so badly I get to meet/see some of you!). I’m going to be doing paint demos, serving cupcakes, and helping folks pick out paint and decor, and Matt has plans to run a cotton candy machine.  He is a crazy one.  I’ve been writing out giveaway/freebie ideas all morning.

It’s a good morning to dream.

Product is coming in by the truckload, painting is done, and the shop counter is built.  There are some smaller projects to finish, but our crazy house of body parts is just about move-in ready.

Let the good times roll.
