Oh, a blessed day of shopping.
It’s what I’m doing today.
It’s time to shop for these cuties.
My cute mom and I are hitting the town to drink starbucks, fight the crowd at Toys R Us, and have a ridiculously long lunch sans toddler spills and meltdowns.
What ever will I do with myself?
I’m tying to cook up some gift ideas today, and I’ll take all the inspiration I can get. I hope to bring you some pictures and some fun ideas for your family!
Until then, tell me: what are you most excited about giving this year??
P.S. Thanks so much for your kind comments on the Christmas tablescape in the dining room yesterday. Be sure to head to Layla’s to see all the rest!
fun day! and thank YOU for inspiring me to run to home depot yesterday to get greenery … bonus?? it was FREE!!! love that! 🙂
Have loads of fun. I think I’m going to hit etsy in a spare moment today and finish everything up.
Holidays are a time for our family to celebrate life. This weekend my husband and I are having a brunch for a couple dozen friends. The main reason is to get together and collect items for the food bank. Fun and a good deed, can’t beat it. Thank you for the decorating idea. Our brunch will be more festive with the greenery.
Omgosh….I remember those Toys R Us days.
Enjoy the Starbucks time with your Mom.

I hope you had fun! Kiddo-free shopping? Priceless.
I am most looking forward to giving my toddler his first little backpack, which will serve as his carry-on for our flight to spend Christmas with my family in Alaska. This is the first time he really understands he is going on an airplane and he is so very excited.
I am most excited about the challenge I have set out for my family to give “Made in the USA”! We have had fun shopping and are shocked at how many things are made in China. This has to stop!!!!!
In spite of lack of funds and better judgement, I ordered the American Girl doll my daughter wanted. I know she’ll love it. But the gift I’ve already given, and the one I was most anticipating giving, was the one for my beloved. Our dog is two now, but when she was small she chewed up some photos his grandfather had left for him when he died. Quite literally destroyed them. I had left them sit for all this time and decided we either needed to see if they could be repaired or trash them. So I had them scanned and sent off the scans. They came back wonderfully restored! I couldn’t have been happier and since they were so amazing I sent off three more. He has seen the first three and was moved. Made my day and that’s what I’ll be remembering on Christmas morning.
‘What ever will I do with myself?”
Well, as a TV Producer and Mom of three boys… I would say run far, FAR away and never come back. Until 18 years have passed…..
No? Ok, well if that didn’t work, I hope you had an AMAZING day out (off!!) with your Mom because that time cannot be replaced. Looking forward to that myself in a week or two.
I love your blog. It is “perfectly imperfect” in all the right ways. Thank you. Very inspiring.
happy christmas to you and yours,
claire
This Christmas my grandson 22 yrs old will be home for Christmas. It’s been 2years since we have been able to wish him a merry Christmas because he was in rehab or a half way house as he is a drug addict. He has been clean for 9 months. We pray for him every day. Please remember our family at Christmas, and we will remember yours. By the way,he’s going to get a long loving hug this year.
