Well, this is a random one for ya.
I was over at Beckie’s yesterday! Go check it out at Infarrantly Creative….I’m so impressed with all the crafts and projects she accomplishes…I feel like if I get one done a week, I’m happy. Here’s to all you 7-projects-per-week gals!
I’m tired.
These two have had swimming lessons this week. Grayson loves it.
Ava. does. not.
What I’m saying is…she begins the wailing (because crying is just way too pansy a term for what she’s doing) the minute her teacher walks over to her the first time, and does not stop until we pass through the wooden gate that leads to the torture chamber, er, I mean, pool.
She loves the water. Really.
Someone she doesn’t know dunking her head under? Not so much. It really is pitiful. I know she’ll be fine, she won’t remember.
My eardrums will, though.
On top of all that, she woke up at 5 a.m. today. I know I should be tough and say it bothered me none, but I’m not.
And it did.
It’s been a great week…I have several folks interested in the dining table and chairs in the window space, I got another call for work from a friend of mine…who I love!
We’re tackling the built-in’s in the dining room this weekend, and yesterday I hung a really awesome gallery wall in the living room–show it to ya Monday!
I think we’ll cap off the week with some (fun, low stress) swimming today, and a date with my guy tonight.
Super 8 or First Class? I guess I’m giving in to my sci-fi side.
Back to less random….
I miss seeing all of your work. You know, I do my best to hop around (even if I don’t always comment), but I kind of miss our parties around here. Our Flickr group is fun, and I love having all the photos there in one place…but I miss the party.
Do you guys want to bring it back? I’m thinking furniture-related only…makeovers, builds, and even showcasing pieces you love in your home.
You game? Do we want a monthly party?? That’s kinda what I’m thinking…you could link up your work for the month…I need some feedback from you!
Enough random for Friday. Tomorrow we’re talking about using textures on your photos (like mine above) and I’ll send you to a great source.
Hope you have an awesome Friday
Minus the swimming blues.
I know exactly how you feel! I just cant seem to find the time to ‘get’r all done’ anymore! I would love to see a monthly party.
Kim
Great random post. Too bad about the screaming, poor thing. Love the texture picture! Definitely yes to the party! Have a great weekend!

Hi, Shaunna! I just happened upon your blog via someone else’s blogroll……Centsational Girl, I’m pretty sure. I say “yes’ to the party, I’m getting ready to start my first furniture re-do! Have a great weekend. 🙂
Your post lifted my spirits =) Would LOVE to be a part of the monthly party!
My son is the same way with his swim lessons, and this is his third summer of lessons!! (He started when he was 18 months).
I would love to see a party here again…can’t have too many parties!!!
a monthly party would be great….it takes me about a month to finish anything so it would be perfect for me!!
chris
I would love to party with you in July, August, Sept, Oct, Nov,Dec and so on!!! Looking forward to it :)I just received my chalk paint yesterday and I watch your videos ! Thanks for sharing and by the way Grayson is a cutie.
I’m certainly in for a monthly linky party. It might be a good idea for people to also share about some fave pieces of furniture they have. For instance, I have a chest from Germany. It is OLD, not sure how old. I would NEVER do anything to change it in the way of paint or distress, for instance. Just an idea!
Oh I love parties! I would love you to bring it back. I can’t figure out the flickr group thing…or maybe there weren’t enough pictures when I first started looking?? Such a fan of your blog!!
Would love a monthly link up for furniture, I have the chalk paint bug!!
How old is Ava? My Kendall is 16 months and HATES. IT. loves the pool with mommy or daddy. HATES HER SWIM INSTRUCTOR. I think its the stranger combo with the traumatic dunking her thing, lol. xoxo shelli
Hi Shaunna, My pick would be Super 8. If you see it, give us a thumbs up or down about it. Also, my vote would be yes for a monthly party. I have a side table sitting in my garage that needs a makeover. It’ll be my first one, so I’m a little nervous. Maybe I’ll try the chalk paint. You seem to love it. Do I need to sand and prime with that? Can’t remember. I’ll have to look back through your older posts and find the one you did about it. Have a great night!! ~Catie
Please bring the party on! I need some inspiration!
So true, so random, so real….life as a driven mother. What do you use as a program for your pics? I love the old finish….gorgeous!
Yes to the party. I get so much inspiration from seeing everyone’s finished projects.
Shaunna,
I absolutely love your blog. You are doing what I have always dreamed of. I love to
redo furniture and was so excited to learn about the chalk paint, I have been dreaming of it! Living in a condo, raising 3 girls, working two jobs, and attending college hardly leaves time for much.
I can’t wait to see what you post everyday, it makes me want to try harder. Thank you.

not so random….very juggle-y. that’s what i call it. i remember the swimming lesson days. nostalgically. i just returned from taking my oldest out driving. yes, a car. there was screaming. but, it was me. oh dear. yay, for projects around the house. double yay for any of those projects finished. 🙂 have a wonderful weekend.
I would love that!
I am furniture paintaholic too.
it is not just out of neccessity bit out of the love of a huge change for such a small price.
If it doesn’t move it is getting painted.
That includes napping pooch, tired hubby and playing
grandchildren. hehe
can’t wait. Just have to learn how to “link-up”.
Love your blog. So rich with ideas, love, and creativity.
Happy Days. geri.
