A little repurposing never hurt anybody or anything.

Especially not this pretty old ladder.

While I’m sure it misses the days where many a foot rested on it to complete greatness, I’m confident that it will enjoy its lazy days as a magazine/book/vintage linen or letters/anything-else-I-fancy-displaying-on-it holder.

Oh, how I love some metal bits here and there throughout a home.  Adding these vintage and industrial touches is really beginning to make an impact on this traditional suburban home.

Repurposing great finds is a passion for me.  It takes my home from mediocre to mine.  I enjoy it so much that I’m focusing on reinventing as a huge part of my little shop…that is officially opening today/tomorrow!!

I thought it only fair that you got a little preview here first.  You’ve been with me since the beginning, after all.

I moved in a few items last night with my buddy, Lauren.  We met after closing and got busy ripping down that concrete wall you see back there to expose the lovely brick.

We didn’t get very far.  More on that tomorrow, though.  And don’t worry, I’ll show you more of the french chest of drawers later this week.

After we tore down as much as we could, we cleaned up and started putting a few things on the shelves.  It’s a much bigger space than I had in my head, so I’m really needing to add a few things to it.  Maybe there’s some junking in my near future.

And speaking of junk…this green gem has my heart.  I’ve been looking for a vintage scale for quite some time.  Alas, I’m holding out for more of a blue, so this one is taking up residence in the vault.

It’s got a long way to go before it’s just the way I want it, but with all we have going on getting ready for Honduras (guest posters, I’ll be emailing you the next 2 days), I’m going to make do a little bit and only put things in the space I love.

Speaking of that…I better go and keep painting.  I’ve got quite a bit to finish today.  And if you’re in the Troy/Montgomery/Dothan/Birmingham/lower Alabama area and want to stop by the vault, let me know and I’ll meet ya up there!
