I can’t believe it’s that time again!  I feel like I just left for the Mayo, and now I’m back home and can’t wait to see what you’ve been up to while I’m away!!  Thanks so much for all of your prayers and well wishes; they were much appreciated!  Needless to say, I’ve not done much blog surfing this week, so I’m looking forward to it!
Do me a favor, and be sure to add the Style Feature Saturday button to your post or in your list of parties so others can see where you linked and join in if they’d like.
Before you link up, I promised you some before shots of the guest room I’m about to tear up.
🙂
Here it was a few years ago, in all of its blah glory, before we did a mini-makeover.  We ripped up carpet to add bamboo flooring that we found discounted at a home furnishings outlet in Birmingham.  Let me be honest, Matt did most of this work, and I am most hesitant to re-do anything, because I just kind of feel bad.
But the green light has been given.  And all we’re talking about is some trash to treasure furnishings, an unexpected headboard, new paint and possibly a new light fixture.
This is the “after” before we actually began moving things in.  This was in my days of being an active Southern Living at HOME consultant, and I desperately needed an office space.  But…we needed the bedroom for guests.  So…here’s what you’ve got.  (plus, during the attic renovation, this was the dumping ground, and now that it’s cleaned out, it basically looks the same.)
The curtains are staying, because they’re all choclate-y and rich, and they block the light really well for our guests.  I had originally wanted a white sheer, but in the end, I happened to find some panels on clearance at Ballard Designs this week—I didn’t even know an actual store existed!  Those will be headed in the living room, and these lucious chocolates will stay.  I’ve got some inspiration photos coming your way later today–hold me to this–because I want this mostly done before Matt gets home!!!  Kind of like Trading Spaces, except he didn’t care to be traded.
Alright, link up those projects so I can get inspired!!  Thanks again to Anne Marie from Twice Lovely for picking the favs this week while I was under the weather!
