Wanted to show you guys my latest work…they are happily in their new home now (hey Ashley!)
Here is her coffee and end tables before:
I should have taken a better “before”, but I honestly was smitten with the “pottery barn look of them” that I was ready to get to work! (Can you tell I’ve got a bit going on in the garage….and can you also see the exersaucer in the bottom left corner when I have little A out there with me? 🙂
Look at those legs…almost identical!
We talked about a white with distressing, so that’s the direction we went….
and this is the hardware I picked out,
but alas, it was not in stock, so I worked the wooden knobs (also very pb) into the design of the tables.
And here is the updated look Ashley got without stepping into a furniture store:
I love the casual and laidback feel I get when I look at them…and I couldn’t help but put a vintage coke tray on it!
And the coffee table:
again, please mind the mess of our home!
I actually love the knobs as well as the pull! The pull will dress them up a bit, but it’s wonderful to have a second look from such a small change. As I was distressing, I really only went lighter, focusing on the edges and corners, sometimes going all the way to the wood, but sometimes stopping at the green that was underneath.
Which I love, by the way. It’s unexpected and it will help blend them back into their original home.
Hope you love them, Ashley and they are a blessing to your home!
On a side note, my lovely friends, it seems I’m so busy these days between painting, bloggin, nursing the girl, chasing the boy, crafting, cooking, wifing, etc., that I do not seem to be able to visit every single one of you all the time!! I try so very hard, so just know I appreciate you all so much and I’ll hopefully I’ll see you at your place soon!
And another side note, I am putting a hold on new jobs this week, because in the very near future, a certain family is heading on a very special trip! So, I need a favor from you guys….since there won’t be much cottage-inspired decor or furniture transformations going on while I’m vacating, I would love for 5 of you to submit a tutorial or transformation as a guest post so that I can share it with our readers while I’m away!!
To be fair, I’ll take the first 5 that comment on this post…the post should be a tutorial for something you created or “fixed up” or it could be a furniture transformation, because I’m kind of a sucker for those! Be sure to leave your URL to your post and your email in your comment as well!
Can’t wait to see what you come up with!!
I'd love to be featured! Your blog is such an inspiration to me…can't wait to see more projects! Here's the project I chose because I think its the most drastic change (probably because of the size…lol)
Lovely!
Hi! Enjoy your trip! I'd be happy to do a post for you. How about this easy diy topiary? Very cottagey 😉 email me at janorourke@aol.com w/ the details.
This isn't very fancy but it's one of my first makeover's I posted after I first started my blog so if you can't use it it's ok!

I LOVE the distressed white look! And I love when you can take furniture you've already got and redo it (or have someone talented like yourself redo it for you) and make it work in your new decorating schemes.
Hi Shaunna. Love the finished results. I have a basket of pinecones on my coffee table at the moment too!

Whoops…just realised I was supposed to send you the actual link to my project. I think you're pretty familiar with my blog so you know I re-do stuff all the time. If it's ok, I'd be happy to make a new post about something in the coming days which you could feature?
those tables look fantastic! you did a really nice job.
i have those same tables – i love them – i repainted mine to white about a year ago and getting ready to change them up a little more
